hi this is jon krider with thor motor coachand i'm here to talk to you about our new gemini motorhome. this is built onthe ford transit chassis and this is actually the first entry into the northamerican market for a motor home on the transit chassis. as you can see here thegemini its compact it's gonna be easy to maneuver it's part of our ruv line whichall of our ruvs are recreational utility vehicles and those vehicles areset up to be small compact easy to maneuver and going to do the same kind ofthings that your big suv does except now going to get a kitchen a bathroom and atrue sleeping area. on the outside of the coach you'll notice we have our hd max exterior package. with the hd max, you can see you get a
colored fiberglass. that fiberglass goes allthe way through. it gives you a good look and it's definitely upgraded from whatwe've had in the past when you look at motor homes and because of the hd maxyou can see we've added things like frameless windows the frameless windowsgive you a good look they're also gallasy style so now you can crankthese out and when it's raining outside you can still get ventilation throughoutthe coach... other attributes on the outside of this motorhome you can see wehave exterior speakers which when we move to the inside we've got a dvd player radio thatactually allows you to put sound out
underneath your patio awning so that waywhen you're tailgating or just enjoying your campsite, now you have some musicand of course we can't forget that this also comes with an available exterior television. so this 32 inch tvis all set up for all your tailgating or camping needs and it'sreally nice when you're out underneath the patio awning if you want to just watch thelocal news or maybe you're gonna have movie night have all the kids orgrandkids or neighbors over it gives everybody something to do out underneath the patio. ofcourse when you're looking at a motorhome one of the things that you're gonna want youto want plenty of storage so we've got
multiple storage compartments thestorage compartments are large they are nice and deep so you can pack anything youpretty much want to bring with you on the road of course this is just one storage compartment hereand we'll see a couple more as we work our way back... as we do move towardsthe back of the coach you'll notice that we do have our water heater located herethis is the new gerard tankless water heater and we really liked it becausethey've taken all the guesswork out of having a nice hot water so you can have a nicehot shower or maybe you can do the dishes there's a single control up inside thebedroom area you simply turn to the
temperature that you want the waterheater to heat to and that's it turn it on turn off you really don'thave to do anything else with the system and of course because it's tankless youcan reduce some of the weight inside of the motor home so you have more cargocarrying capacity and you're gonna have a quicker heat up time and not have toworry about the recovery like on a typical six gallon or 10 gallon gaswater heater.. also as we move our way back i don't know if you can see above me butyou'll notice that we have a patio awning your patio awning its legless youcan see there's nothing that comes down and intrudes on the side walls with thatlegless awning now you can put the
awning out you don't have to worry aboutrunning underneath and hitting your head or running into anything alsoit's pretty nice cause all the controls are built in so when the wind gets justa little bit too gusty instead of you having to run home and worry about retracting yourpatio awning it's going to retract on its own put everything away nicely and make surethat when you get ready to leave your awning isn't going to be left at the campsite. nowlet's take a trip to the back of the coach here and in this storagecompartment we're gonna see two access points we are going to see one here on the sideand then we'll see in a second you're going to see one on the other side butthis storage is nice it's big it's all
well lit it's got rotocast on theinside here. rotocast is a plastic. it's very lightweight this also very durable italso has ribs at the bottom which now allows you if you spill something inthere or maybe you wanna throw some ice and then make yourself homemade cooler youdon't have to worry about it delaminating or getting moldy or mildewyou can simply just wash the thing out and kinda go. this storagecompartment is not only accessible from the side but we can also get to it bymoving around here to the back of the motor home. this nice big storage areahere it's passed through from one side to the other
give you plenty of places to put yourfishing pole your camping chairs or who knows maybe get your favorite rock club makes it real simple to get back hereand put everything in one location and of course as we look at the back hereanother thing that will take a look at is a slide room so another thing whenyou look at the transit chassis is out there you've got engineer these thingspretty well to be allow yourself enough weight to be able to slide romani sothis nice deep slide room comes about three feet out the rear the coach so nowyou drive down the road it feels like 23 feet will you get rid of campus feelslike 26 feet so you have a much larger
living area with the slide-out room thatcomes out the back and we don't take up any of them valuable storage area livingspace inside your backup monitor is standard comes with with every coach inthem will see that on a rearview monitor that's located up of the dash area andalso you have nice bright led lights that are on the back along with a fivethousand-pound trailer hitch so now you can hook up your favorite old vehiclesmall trailer maybe pull your atv with you wherever you want to go and ofcourse that's got a seven-way round connector so simply hook up your brakecontroller you're off and running around to the other side so i can show you afew other things that you'll notice on
the outside of this gemini motor oilaround on the driver side of the coach will notice that he thinks first we haveour exterior storage bay that houses all black or grey in a freshwater take sohere we can get right to our black and are great we could dump them very easilythis area is a closed so now if you want to leave your sewer hose connected orleave it inside the storage area it's already go for you next time you're outabout and then we move on here we've got our outdoor connection so now we havewhere we hook up our electrical plug into the campsite in our home it's apretty nice feature because i got a light on it so when i plug in and i knowi have power all see it out here so i
don't have to actually go inside themotor home and check to see that i have power you have a part cable section arehere we also have an exterior shower so now when the kids are the dogs anybody'sout camping and you want to take you want to spray everybody off just alittle bit before the radio back of the coach is gonna save yourself some timefrom cleaning once we once we do that more exterior storage is on the outsidehere we can see our thirty an attachable power cord this is what we plug into theside while back there were flipped up the nice thing about being a taxable do not worry about winding up in anysingle storage compartment you can
pretty much story wherever you'd like wherever you've made the most the mostspace with the power cord and because it would ever happen in that regard damageto replace it and get that from any one of your rd camping stores get aroundother parts department lpg tank is located at the front and i shouldmention the fact that this motorhome is powered by a 3600 watt generator is muchbetter than most of the two point eight for the 2800 watt generators out thereis going to be a lot more power you can run your air conditioner all the time itdoesn't really matter how hot or humid gets or if you want to run the microwaveand you went on the air conditioner
there's no automatic shutoff valve thatsome motor homes will experience where if you want to use the microwave airconditioner turned off or vice versa so this is gonna like you to run all yourappliances everything inside the moment one time without having to addadditional power to make it run now let's go to the front look at what thecap has to offer on this new transit transit chassis is extremely popular ineurope but now it's finally come to the united states this transit allows us tohave a motor home and we have a gvwr a ten thousand three hundred and sixtypounds now our motorhome is powered with the inline five-cylinder diesel enginethe reason we've gone this list of gases
for maximum fuel efficiency i'veactually had this motorhome on the road and i can tell you over a sixhundred-mile period i averaged more than sixteen miles per gallon loaded to gvwr so i got really goodresults for what this coach offers it's got a nice pickup is got plenty ofpassing power also is very comfortable to dry the captain's chair comfortableyour cockpit seating areas very comfortable in the diesel engine is veryresponsive now of course when it comes to diesel engines almost all dieselengines off their gonna require obviously diesel fuel but they also mayrequire de paz diesel exhaust fluid the
diesel exhaust fluid on a lot of coachesis somewhat difficult to get to it here on the transit chassis as you can see if i simply just open thedoor have a nice wide opening door i'm ableto come and get to my fuel feel very easily now the thing that i like aboutthis is when i'm feeling fuel if i want to i can open the door i can come back ican close and i can lock this and that keeps anybody from going in and out ofthe cabin my chest but not only that i also have access to the eft inc so there is a small container or a smallopening right underneath the fuel door
you can see you all here and it iscapitalist which is really nicely not to worry about losing your gas cap yourdiesel cap and then we've got our de ville here on the bottom so when you'reat the pay at the pump a lot of places will have available so they can fillyour belly or diesel fluid and you're all good to go goes back up the other things i like toyou is then once the door is closed and i've locked my motorhome for the eveningnow nobody can get in here and access my diesel fuel give me a little peace ofmind let me know nobody can put anything in there let's go right to the veryfront of the motor home here in a little
peek under the hood cbc exactly what theinline 5 looks like alright so this inline five-cylinder diesel is verycompact its 3.2 leaders hundred eighty-five horsepower and 350pounds of torque that's gonna get you going is gonna get you up the hill andhelp you maintain speed so obviously the lower horsepower is going to help uswith fuel efficiency higher torque rating at three hundred and fifty footpounds is going to help us climb a hill and maintain whatever speed we're goinguphill and downhill the other nice things we do you have what we call memattox shifting in here so i can mainly limit the gear that the engine or thetransmission will actually shipped into
either as high as i want as low as iwant which also help retard the speed that's on the coaches go up or down ahill very nice because it's done right from the gear shift selector and rightat the dash and it's easy to access to you the other things you got your washerbill which is really easy to get to you your power steering is easy to get toyou can access your engine oil barry easily also your radiator fluid andanything else that you need at the front is easily accessible along with yourfuse panel and your air intake along with you air cleaner box very simple very easy toget to and of course they've been
building this chassis and this engineerfor a long time so we have a real proven winner now that's here in the unitedstates as we step up inside of this new gemini motorhome you'll notice on thewall here we have a couple of things we have our in house where your systemwhich controls the exterior speakers that we talked about earlier but it alsohas a dvd puncheon cd and it also has bluetooth so now i can connect myfavorite smart device whether it's my phone or my tablet i can go to somethinglike serious xml and now i can listen to sirius xm's described and i can listento that on my radio there's three sets a speaker output so i can listen to it
outside i can listen to in the livingarea oracle listen to it back in the bedroo so pretty much i control wherethe music's gonna go this also has the dvd output that goes to all my tv is sonow i can play dvds throughout the coach and i also even have a usb inputs enoughi want to put some mp3 files or have some books on audio i can take those lowdemand here i can listen to their control panel here is very simple it'sall labeled lays everything out for you you have your generator start you haveall your tank levels here to tell you exactly how much water graham black youhave until your tanks you also can extend the slide-out room that's in theback of the motor home turn on your
water pump water heaters and anythingelse that might be located there depending on what options you haveinstalled a nice big grab handle man walking to the coaches are not always asdouble as a grab handle it when you walk into the motorhome it's also gonna workin the cockpit in and out of the cockpit area we'll work our way up into themotorhome and of course from back there you can probably see it we've gottenpretty nice looking skylight here now this is very unique to thor motor coachbecause it's a windshield just like we have a coach it's gonna protect you uphere as far as the way that the glasses laminated but also got a nice cleanshroud everything looks good and of
course you're going well how am i goingto cover this up well with you that quite simply the button is located righthere in the dash we can take and share it comes right down its all concealedwhen you're not using it when it closes you're gonna see it's nice and finish and this way you can block out all thelight keeps the heat down but then when you get ready to travel to get take liftthe shade backup and they've got a great you need to look at the moon and thestars as you travel down the road when it's time do you put camp up with theopposite direction it goes right back up light to come inside here with me andlet me show you a little bit more on
this gemini motorhome here we are at thecockpit of this new gemini motorhome and as you can see here the ford transitjesse is laid out very nicely first of all the controls are very easy to get toyou can see before we are talking about i could reach up and i cant put thatwindow shade down that's up there in the sky late i can't control that right hereso as i'm driving was getting too hot back there in the kids are all see icould simply just hit the button during the shade down or make it go theopposite direction i also like the layout because the gear shift is niceand high got a tilt and telescoping spirit steering wheel so now i can pullit off to me just right
also the passenger seat swivels so icould turn this around after we get perks somewhere and i can actually enjoywhat's going on in the living room so give me one more seat this included inmy living area the readout on the dash is very nice i can scroll through it the information is there gives me thenumber of miles i have until may need to get fuel to give me some moreinformation about what my fuel economy is tell me what my overall trip raciallooks like everything like that i also have heated mirrors traction controlsystem up here i have my mere control i have my headlight control everything isvery easy to use
i also like the fact that the windowsthemselves are powered down but then also one touch up so i get one touch upand down and then last but not least as we look at the entire dash area herevery easy media layout so i can get everything that i want to i've got aplug in here and i want to use he thinks jack to plug in my tablet on mysmartphone and then i also have the ability to have a rear view mirror therear view mirror remarkable to see how the back of the motor home but i amgonna be able to see what's going on the living area so it's also peace of mindthat allows you didn't see one everybody's in seat beltsor somebody gets up to use the restroom
or somebody needs to say we need to pullover or simply just build a look and see what people are saying behind you thatrear view mirror also doubles as your backup minors so if i take engage thebreak here shift into reverse i will have a windowthat pops up on my rearview mirror that'll show me what's behind me it'snice because it's got a little distance running across the the display so i geta good read out of exactly where by cameras located also what's behind meand once again gives me a good picture behind so i can see what i'm backing tomake sure that i'm not gonna run into anything we've really thought of a lotof things inside the cockpit area here
so let's move on to our next area one ofthe things customers really like about the interior this motorhome is how itcontrasting color as you can see here we have a nice comfortable sofa and in justseconds just how easy the soap is to make down to bed but we've got lots ofthings with our darks and lights we've got all kinds of contrast as far as thedecor paleologos and just the overall color of the furniture whether it's twotone or whether it's it's a single tone everything goes together very well andof course it looks considerably different than today's traditionalmotorola's up there once again that's why we call this an are you be becausethis really anything outside of the
ordinary and it's really extraordinarywhen it comes to a motorhome like i said this so far makes it verysimply into bed i simply lift up and now i have my sleeping surface also i canremove the arm wrestle both sides and i want to do that it makes my sleepingarea little bit larger so now i think up the kids grandkids or maybe you'retraveling sleeper evening you get an easy way to get in and out of bed so ican simply put that back up and if you notice when i was putting it down we dohave seat belts on the sofa so the seat belt sander so obviously know your lovedones can go down the road and other things we hear a lot of good thingsabout is the journey has got all your
storage for tables that are locatedinside of the coach and the tables are real real simple ihave a base leg that's what i'm gonna put here and then i also have my tablenow this is all stored away in a specific storage area that's locatedunderneath the sofa when i get ready to put this in place and simply not able togo i'm gonna put that in place that in truth i get that screwed in all take andi will put my table and it's that simple now driving down the road or if i wannamake a meal here is a place where i could sit me if the kids want to be herethat could be there their ipods or their tablets or anyother android devices will show you a
quick shot real quick we've got a cupholder and a charging station that's already built in this area so i'm notworried about drinks going anywhere you're going down the road and of courseyour gonna keep all those electronics charged and that's why we've offered thethe charging station right here at the sofa where everybody can be spendingmost of their time so let's go take a look at this kitchen that's right behindme and see what it has to offer another thing that really sets this motorhomeapart from everything else out there is the overhead cabinetry you see here wehave laminate on the outside of the cabinetry you can see that it's got anice spring loaded catches that lift the
door up also when you put the doors downyou could see that they stay show without having have any initial catchesor any other catches on it we have things like a nice big cooking area soflat cooktop so if you want to use this you've got a little protection for yourwindow valance you gotta two burner cooktop also have a nice big deep singlebowl sink here at all stainless steel and of course you have your knowledgethat pulls out so very modern contemporary look and feel the inside ofthis same kind of thing here with a good offer flights makoto led so you can havea nice efficient lighting but you also can use nearly as much energy as youwould with a halogen and incandescent
bulbs and of course we also have otherareas here so you got towards behind this cabinet we have a microwave thismason low so now if you want to get into the microwave i can simply just putthings in close the door operate from here i don'thave to worry about trying to look something up high and have a spell on meif i'm a little bit shorter nice big drawer storage here so hot lanes prettymuch towels whatever you can think of to go right down here and then as we workour way back you can see the movie and refrigerator now we really like thisrefrigerator and we hope you will too because of some three way refrigeratorso now we're a traditional harvey
refrigerator will only work off of ahundred and ten fold electric or lpg gas this also works at 12 so the 1200 givesyou the option of going on the road not running your generator not using any lpggas is still keeping everything inside a refrigerator nice and cool and of courseit's got its own built-in freezer along with this 5.5 cubic foot so you got somepretty good stories there to take anything you wanna long on the road sowe have just a little bit more also this is where all of ourelectronics are located so we do have a place to put a dvd player and also wehave a switch box up here which is all hdmi that goes out to all the tvs sowe're on hdmi out of the radio or the
dvd players located come up with thisarea and then we distribute the deal i throughout the coach high-definition picture every motorhomes for every tv inside of this motorhome we also have some additionalstorage back here so when they want to use this for a pantry space area we haveaccess down here which i actually get is to are fresh water tank also get used tothe back of our water heater when it comes to winterizing the coach is verysimple and then of course move back into the bathroom area and i really want toshow off his bathroom area because in most small motor homes you're going toget something like a wet bath we're
gonna get something so small itsneighboring usable well we've come up with a way to make a bath in the usablethats space conscious and also fits into a small motor home so now we give youthe best of all worlds like i said sometimes you have to be a little injurywhen it comes to designing bathrooms for smaller motor home's normally you justget a single opening door like this so everything would be kind of a squeezeher in the bathroom but we've taken we've opened it up soyou go up and down the hallway by just having a single door that opens andcloses like a traditional but also we design it actually take this store
pop it back as we go the most the timethis will be a two-person motorhome you have this big open space now so now i gofrom my shower i go from my my lab all my toilet everything is right here inall opened up into the bedroom area so now i've got plenty of space writinggoing to get into my wardrobe this right here or you can go to my drawer storagethat got here and get into all this area and i'm not confined but on top of thatif i wanna make it where i can have people going up and down the hallway ican still close this door and then i have full access to privacy this way orif i wanted to sneak outside of the door i can sneak out and all too often whenyou come to the back of a smaller motor
home and you go to the bedroom area herea little disappointed because there's not a lot of room to move around so asyou can see i got my bed down i got plenty of space that is back here i'vegot big storage thats back here in the back like i have a front i got somereally cool little cubby holes on the sides and a place to put my cell phoneor put a picture now they put the books or anything else i've got a little extraspace here that i can go to but one of the things like i said is this space isalways an issue so how could we design a motor home that gives you a maximummanas base in the bedroom area and still allows you to have a comfortablesleeping area what we've done it by
designing the platform in the back hereto you how's the mattress first of all so you've got your inbox bring here soyou got wood slats here just like that using your that's what's going tosupport you when you actually sleep here tonight you're not just a mattress andputting it on a hard surface and then having to worry about it we take thatwhole entire assembly and now you can put this up so now wants everybody's onthe bed you going to want to use the restroom like we're just showing you ihave got a huge area back here but now i can access i can get to it and what ilike about it is now i can sit down on this little been seen this back here inthe back if i want to put my shoes and
socks i got an area to do it i don't have toworry about trying to lean over the bed or do anything else have lots of greatstories that back here in the back so as i sit here on my on my my bench backhere i think all my storage so now i've got my shoes in my socks and anythingelse that's located here i can get to them easily i don't have to be bendingaround something another thing we do that here is we also have another headtable location now the bed table occasionally give you a place we put asecondary table and now the kids want to come back here and they want to havetheir snacks or they want to hook up the
xbox or they want to do something backhere watch a tv thats back here is if you have an optional tv available youcan do all that back here so you really have to separate entertaining areas andif you count the patio awning really free and a motor home to be twenty sixfeet long when it's all said and done and i gotplaces to put my kids but my friends my family whatever i want to do thismotorhome can provide it and remember this is the kind of motor home thatcosts seem kind of money as your big luxury suvs today except now i can usethe restroom taken that or anything else that i want to in this kind of vehiclethis is really a great vehicle for
