all right, this is john kohler with www.discountjuicers.com. today we have another exciting episode foryou. what we’re going to do today is anotherone of my famous juice-off comparison tests, where we can battle two juicers head-to-head,side-to-side, to see which one will make more yield, which one is easier to use, which oneis faster to use. but, more importantly, also compare the specificationsof the two machines. this is one of the most requested episodes, comparing the gse – the longstanding, top of the line, twin gear juicer – to the lowerend, less expensive by about $150 at this time, the omega twn30.

so the omega twn30 comes in this silver color. no other colors are available at this time. and the green star elite, you get a choiceof colors, whether you want to get a white like i’m using today, a black, or a chromeplated plastic model. so yeah, with that, these are both twin gearjuicers. now, the twin gear juicers, with every differentstyle of juicer – whether that’s a twin gear juicer, or a vertical single auger juicer, horizontal single auger juicer, or a masticating juicer, or a high speed centrifugal ejectionjuicer, or just a standard centrifugal non-ejection juicer, each juicer has their own pros andcons.

i’m not going to get into the pros and consof all the different types of juicers in this episode, because we’re just comparing thetwin gears. so, if you’re interested in that, i’llput a link below to a video i did comparing and contrasting all the different styles ofjuicers. and be sure to watch that video so you guyscan get the right juicer for you. if you guys determine that you want a twingear juicer, this is the episode you’ll want to watch, so that you guys can see andlearn the differences between these two specific machines. so, first off, i want to say twin gear juicerslike the omega twn30 and like the gse-5000,

they’re both really good at juicing certainthings and not so great at juicing other things. so, for example, if you’re the kind of personthat says, john, i want to juice hard vegetables and leafy greens, wheatgrass and sprouts, together at the same time – so like a 50-50 mixture of both those items – both thesemachines are probably the top of the line, top of the class. you can get the highest yield, highest nutritionalquality, and some of the driest pulp of any of the juicers that we currently offer atwww.discountjuicers.com. now, if you said, hey john, i want to juicelike all fruits. i’ve got an apple orchard, man, i want touse a lot of apples.

i pick them hard and firm off the tree. are the twin gears the juicer for me? and i would say absolutely not. for juicing stringy fruits, when you’rejuicing only fruits in these machines, i definitely don’t recommend it. they do need some hard, fibrous material tohelp push through that pulp to get it to come out all right. now, if you’re going to be adding some applesand some fruits in with your vegetables and leafy green juice, these machines work beautifully.

and if you’re just going to juice straightgreens and wheatgrass, you know, these machines will work, but they do tend to make a littlebit higher levels of foam than other machines, and they’re not my preference. so in that case i would use the solo star4 from tribest or the omega nc800 by omega. those machines are better apt to do thosetasks. and, of course, if you wanted to juice a lotof fruits then i would recommend something like the omega vsj843 from omega, or the slowstarjuicer by tribest. check my other videos for that. that’s basically, if you want to juice awide variety of things – hard vegetables

specifically, a good percentage, things likecarrots and beets, jicama, or radishes and things like that, parsnips, as a base andthen add in leafy greens or fruits – these are the best machines for yield and highestnutritional quality. with that, let’s go ahead and start tearingthese machines apart and sharing with you guys the differences. first off, i want to share with you guys theweight of these machines, right? let’s see if i can bench press both theseguys. all right. as you guys can see, this one came up easily.

this one is a little bit harder. i’m right-handed, so it was easier to pullthings up with my right hand than my left – which this is on my right side, this ison my left side. but nonetheless, this guy weighs less, sothat may be a pro for some of you guys that don’t want to lift a heavy juicer off yourcounter all the time. but it’s also a con, because when you’repushing things into this juicer it may tend to tip up a little bit because it’s about86 per cent lighter, believe it or not. this machine is nice and heavy duty – prettyheavy, 86 per cent heavier. when you’re pushing things into this machine,it’s not going to have that tendency.

man, i’ve got to really put some weighton it to tip it up. that being said, the feed chutes on both thesemachines are more towards the center instead of the tips. you know, so pushing them by the tips it’sa little bit easier to do it. but when you’re pushing in vegetables thismachine may have a tendency to tip up a little bit. the next thing i want to share with you guysis the feed tube size, and this is super critical, super important. you’re going to have to put all the producethrough the feed chutes in these machines.

and there is the feed chute on the twn30 andthere is the feed chute on the gse-5000. as you guys can see, the feed chute on thegse-5000 is larger. and it’s about 28 per cent larger. so what this means is it’s going to be easierto feed produce in. you won’t have to cut it into as small bits. this machine actually has a circular feedchute and this one has a square. so that’s going to definitely make it alot easier to feed the produce into the machine. the next thing i want to talk about is thepower cord that you guys can’t see. here’s the power cord right now to thisguy, off the edge of the screen.

and here it is over on the green star elite. basically, on the green star elite, the powercord is detachable. i like this a lot. you can keep it out of the way when you’renot using it. it’s a standard iec cable that would beused in many desktop computer pcs. so this is handy – also, you could get alonger one if you needed. the power cord is not detachable on the twn30. next, i want to get into the assembly anddis-assembly of these machines. i’ll show you guys how easy it is to assembleand dis-assemble.

first we’ll start with the gse-5000. first you have this first part that you sawme easily remove. you just lift it up and it comes right off. next you have these two spring latch arm things;latch those off and check it out. you can easily dis-assemble all of the differentparts, including the gears, of this machine. now over on the twn30s, a little bit morechallenging. first you’ve got to rotate this piece off. there’s a little collar. that comes off.

then you can pull this piece off. then you’ve got the screen and gear thatcome out. then you’ve got a little turning knob thatyou can take the whole housing off. in my opinion, the gse is a little more user-friendly. you just pop that top off, it lifts off easily, snap these things, and the whole thing comes out. this, you know, a little bit more difficult, but not that much more difficult. the next thing i want to talk about is actuallysome of the different parts that i just took apart, and we’re going to share with youguys some of the differences.

now that i’ve got the machines apart, let’sgo ahead and move some of these parts in the back here so you guys can then see it. i want to talk about the motor bases. as you guys heard a little bit earlier, andsaw, the motor on the twn30 is lighter. the whole machine is in fact lighter. and on the gse-5000 it’s heavier. now, if i were to take out the motors on thesetwo machines, i’m highly confident that the motor on the gse-5000 is going to be biggerand more beefy, right? because it’s a heavier machine.

there’s been testing done on these two motors,on how long they could actually be running before they get too hot, overheat, and evenshut down. and i think the testing on the omega twn30showed that it could run about an hour and 40 minutes, which is quite impressive, beforeit actually overheated and shut off – and shut down. whereas the test was stopped after four hoursand the gse-5000 was still running strong at a lower temperature than the twn30s. the twn30s has a 150 watt motor and the gsehas a 200 watt motor. so that’s a bigger motor.

it also has a larger gearbox because it’sa bigger, more heavy-duty machine. i mean, it’s called the green star eliteheavy duty model, whereas this is smaller. also the motor shafts, if you just look atthe motor shaft here coming out of the green star elite – you guys can’t see that, but it’s nice and big, and it’s a lot thinner on the twn30s. so on the power of the motor, because thegse-5000 has a 200 watt motor over the 150 watt motor, this is about 33 per cent morepowerful. the other thing besides just the power ofthe motor, i want to mention the rpm, or revolutions per minute.

that’s how fast these very gears spin. and on the gse-5000 it spins at 110rpm, andover on the twn30s it runs at 160rpm. now, that’s only a 50rpm difference, butthat works out to be about 31.25 per cent higher or faster. now, i don’t know if that’s going to makea huge, significant difference in the amount of yield or how the machine works, becausethat’s one of the factors that may determine the yield. but basically, in general, i like the slowerspeed machines. it might take you a little bit longer to juicein some situations, but it’s going to be

running at a slower speed and doing less oxidativedamage to the juice. and that’s why i like these slow juicersthat both of these are. so now i want to share with you guys the heartof the twin gear juicers here. and those are the twin gears here. and they may look fairly similar to you, becausethey’re stainless steel and then they’ve got nylon actually – which is bpa free. the omega twn has actually nylon at the endand the gse does not have the nylon at the end. just holding these guys, i can feel, and justby looks you can see these gears are a lot

heavier. as a matter of fact, it’s about 133 percent heavier than the twn30s gears. in addition, these gears are longer, and they’reabout 38 per cent longer – as is the diameter and circumference, that’s about 33 per centgreater on the gse. so these are just bigger, heavier duty gearsoverall. now, the similarities don’t end with thesize and the weight and all this kind of stuff. it also depends on what these gears actuallydo. over on the twn gears, this is basically atwo stage, twin gear system. it’s basically a crushing and a squeezingstage.

in this section of the gears, the stainlesssteel section, that’s when you put the produce in and literally the machine takes it andcrushes it. crushes all the produce up. and as the produce moves along, the gears– which once again are shorter – it gets to this stage, which is the plastic section. and this is the pressing stage, where it crushesand then it squeezes out all the juice for you. so that’s two stages, and this is what mostjuicers on the market are. they’re a two stage, twin gear juicer.

not so with the green star elite. this is the world’s only three stage twingear juicer on the market. let me go ahead and explain. on this machine, the stainless steel gearsonce again are the crushing, killing, destroying part of the machine – where it’s crushingup the produce. and then it moves onto this first half ofthe nylon gear, which is the mixing stage, right? and what tribest is trying to do with thegreen star elite is they’re trying to simulate a norwalk or two stage hydraulic press, wherethe first stage is you grind everything up.

unfortunately, that happens at a high speedon the norwalk juicer, which may be inflicting damage and lowering the nutrition in the juice. and that’s happening at a slow speed, 110rpm,in this machine. the next stage in the norwalk is actuallya mixing stage, where the produce is sitting in the bowl. so you’re juicing carrots and apples. you kind of let them co-mingle and the enzymesstart to react with each other. some people say this is an important step, the mixing step, before you put it in the hydraulic press part and the juice is pressedout.

so that’s what this stage does here. the first half of the nylon gear is mixing, and then the final stage is the pressing stage that presses out the juice. so i like that this is a three stage twingear system, versus the two stages. also, because the produce moves down a longergear set, it may have more time to basically get acted upon. so maybe have more time to get crushed upand juice squeezed out. now, the other thing you guys can’t seebetween these gears, i mean, these just look like two gears to me and to you guys.

but what you don’t realize is that the greenstar elite and the green star series of juicers are the only machines on the planet that havethe patented far-infrared and magnetic technology built inside the gears. and i actually have a cutaway of a specialgear here that i want to show you, of a green star elite. here it is right here. and i don’t know if you guys can see thatin the cutaway shot. basically, this is a fully functional gearthat they somehow cut out with a laser or some kind of machine.

and it reveals on the inside, basically ifyou guys can see that, it’s some kind of far-infrared material that’s in the centercore of the machine, as well as there’s some really strong, powerful magnets. to demonstrate how powerful these magnetsare, let me see if we could actually – this is not magnetic, so that won’t work. but what i have here, i have these guys, somestandard nutcrackers. i’ve got one nutcracker, two nutcrackers. i don’t like my nuts being cracked. but let’s see here, we could go ahead andput it on the gear.

we’ll put it on one of these really strongmagnets, and look at that. these guys are kind of heavy and look at that. it just suspends these two nutcrackers, right? that shows you guys the power and the energyof the magnetics. and i want to remind you guys, if you haven’tchecked lately, we have a north pole and we know it’s the north pole because the earthis magnetic, you know? it’s said that dogs like to lay in certaindirections because they’re feeling the earth’s magnetic waves, and we may not be that sensitive. but whether you believe in all this magneticand far-infrared stuff, the fact of the matter

is the green star elite has this technology, and i’m sure they’ve done their research on it. and some of the research that i’ve seensuggests that when you run the juice through the far-infrared and the magnetics, it basicallymay pull out more nutrition in the juice and actually structure the juice so that you getbetter uptake of the nutrients in there. for some of you guys, this may sound a littlebit airy-fairy and you don’t know if it’s true or not. i’m still, you know, i’ve seen good researchthat shows this does work. i’ve talked to people that are experts havingto do with this stuff, because i am by no

means an expert in this. but i believe this can only be a healthfultechnology and not a harmful one. so why not give yourself every possible edge? especially if you’re trying to heal fromsome kind of different disease, you know? you want to be able to get the most nutritionin the juice and be able to absorb it the best. and also, more importantly, the green starand tribest company has done a 72 hour stability test, where they show their juice stores longerand keeps higher levels of nutrients as compared to other machines on the market.

and other companies have actually just referredto tribest’s data on their machines when they say, oh yeah, you can store juices inour machine for 72 hours. i’m like, well where did you get that number? oh, the other company did a test. and i’m like, i’m waiting for other companiesto do testing on their juicers so i can compare, but nobody is really seeming to do that. so yeah, i do like the technology that’sincluded at no additional cost to you guys with the machine. so the next thing i want to talk about isactually some of the other accessory parts

that go along to make these machines work. number one is the juicing screen. without the juicing screen, you wouldn’tget juice, because after the produce is basically crushed, mixed and pressed in the green starelite, it has to get pushed through this screen. in this screen, there’s actually lots ofholes, lots of screen area. what does this mean to you? this means that there’s more surface areafor juice to come out, which may mean you may get higher yields. it also means more holes to clog up, so thatit may be harder to clean when you’re done

juicing if the holes are all clogged up withpulp. that being said, the green star elite is nowcoming with a special cleaning tool to help expedite cleaning the screen. but the other thing is it means, as long asthere’s more holes to clog up, it’s going to take more time to clog up these holes – becausethere are more of them, right? and the screen is approximately 87 per centlarger. look at the screen on the twn30s. it’s a much smaller surface area, you know, front and back. the hole size.

i mean, the hole size is actually varied onthe green star elite. they have smaller holes towards the middleand the outer holes around the edge, around the frame, are maybe a bit larger. and on the twn30s the holes are all smaller. so yeah, this is going to get clogged up alittle bit faster due to less overall surface area. next i want to show you guys the housings. so here is the housing on the gse-5000. this is nylon.

the whole gse-5000 is bpa free. so i like the nylon, it’s a little bit moredurable material. then the housing here on the twn30s is a lotthinner and clearer. so this is going to mean it’s maybe goingto be a little bit louder, since the material is thinner and not as thick. and this also means that the gse-5000 willbe probably more durable over time. the other thing i want to talk about is thatin the gse-5000 the gears sit in between this material. and so, you know, i’ve used the gse a bunchand i’m not seeing any major kind of wear

inside this housing. so, inside the twn30s, the gears sit insidethis housing here – which is a lot thinner plastic. and i don’t know if you guys can see that, but i’m seeing some scratches inside this plastic housing, where i’m not seeing thaton the gse-5000. so that’s definitely an interesting observation. so now i want to share with you guys how toassemble the two machines. first the green star elite, super simple,we’re going to go ahead and take this main housing.

put it right there, it fits into place. then we’re going to go ahead and take thetwo twin gears. and on every twin gear juicer it’s veryimportant to align the twin gears properly. i don’t know if you guys can see that, buton the end of the twin gears basically one gear has two dots and one gear has one dot. you want to make a triangle out of those dots,if you guys can see that on there. and then once you do that you’re going tostick the gears in there, and you may have to rotate the gears a little bit so that theyfully seat all the way back in there. that’s fully seated.

next we’re going to go ahead and take thisoversize, jumbo screen, put it right on the and then finally we’re going to go aheadand take the squeezing chamber area, put that right on, and clip that shut. super simple, super easy to assemble the greenstar elite. finally, let’s go ahead and put this topon. over on the twn30s, it’s also pretty simpleto assemble. once again, we’ve got this main housing. we’re going to go ahead and put that inthere, and lock this collar ring to close. next we’re going to go ahead and take thejuicing screen, and this part of the juicing

screen needs to be facing up. you just slide that right back in there. next we’re going to go ahead and take thegears. there’s red dots on the gears. once again, we’ve got to line this up, thetwo gears with one. and then we’re going to go ahead and slidethis right back in there. next we’re going to go ahead and put thisend cap piece on. it says up, so you want to face that up. and on this machine the overall squeezingchamber area is smaller than the green star

elite. it’s about 245 per cent larger on the greenstar elite. and because the squeezing chamber is larger, what that means is that you’re going to have more pulp that can be squeezed for alonger period of time, which may mean you’re going to get more yield out of the machine. now, the final thing i want to say is, comparethe warranties on the machine. you know, i always stress to you guys, buya machine with a long warranty. it’s something that’s very important tome and should be something that’s very important to you if you guys are getting into this becauseof your failing health.

and that’s why people generally buy thesetwin gear machines – if they want to give themselves the highest yield, highest nutritionalquality of most any juicer out there. and you want to have a machine that’s goingto be backed by a good, solid warranty, by a company that’s been around the block. you know? both tribest and omega have been in businessfor well over 25 years at this point. i think omega has got about maybe five yearson tribest, so they’ve been around a bit longer. but they’re both us-owned companies andhave excellent customer support, based on

my customer feedback that i get. but, that being said, the green star elitehas a full 12 year warranty, and omega did them one up. this machine comes with a full 15 year warranty. three years – yeah, that’s a couple, threeyears. but man, 12 years is awful long. and these are the longest warranties in thejuicing industry, frankly. so yeah, i’m positive that if you buy eitherof these machines and have problems with omega or tribest, and you buy the machines fromdiscount juicers, and they’re giving you

some hassles about warranty claims that arelegitimate warranty claims, please let me know and i will be your liaison between youand the manufacturer to ensure your situation is taken care of. because it’s important for me that my customersare taken care of by the manufacturers. all right, so now that you guys know the differencesbetween these two machines, the next thing i want to do is actually i want to get intothis juice-off comparison. because i’m getting might thirsty and i’mready to drink some carrot juice. so now we’re ready for the actual juice-offcomparison where i’m going to juice the same amount of carrots.

we’ve got two pounds in each, the omegatwn30 and the gse-5000. but first, to make sure we’ve got a fairfight, we’ve got to do the weigh in. so i’m going to go ahead and show you guysthe close-ups on the scales to show you guys that we have 32 ounces even in nine carrotson each side. all right, closing up on the carrots. over on the twn30 side, 32 ounces exactly. there are our organic bunny-luv carrots. and over on the gse-5000 side, 32 ounces. so, as you guys can see, 32 ounces on bothsides.

yes, this is going to be a fair fight. so now that you guys saw we have a fair fight, let’s go ahead and remove these carrots off the scale. put one on one side and one on the other side, and let’s get these scales out of the way here. and let’s talk more about the juicers thati’ll be using today. you know, the first thing i want to do, youguys just learned about the comparison between the different models. and yes, of course, the green star elite costsmore money and it’s higher quality parts.

you know, bigger gears, heavier-duty motor, could run for a longer period of time. all that stuff. i mean, what do you expect? you guys get what you pay for. but another thing that’s important to alot of you guys is actually the noise level, or how loud it is. so let’s go ahead and turn on the gse-5000to let you guys hear it. so this is running at 110 revolutions perminute. a pretty solid, deep kind of voice.

kind of like mine, for example. all right, let’s go ahead and turn thatoff. now we’re going to go ahead and turn onthe twn30s. this runs at 160rpm, which is a fair bit faster. so that’s a tad bit louder. i don’t have my decibel meter handy today, but i definitely could say a little bit louder. and it just runs a little bit faster, so maybethat’s playing into the noise aspect. nonetheless, both those slow juicers are someof the quietest juicers in the industry. in general, the slower the juicer runs, themore quiet it will be.

so omega’s vsj843 that runs at 43rpm isone of the most quiet juicers that i’ve tested to date. in any case, we want to get juicing. before we do, i want to share with you guyssome of the accessories that come with each of the machines. specifically, the collection cup. so the collection cup on the green star eliteis a glass pitcher here, measuring cup. looks like it’s measured up to 700cc, itwill probably hold close to 1000cc. and then over on the omega twn you get a plastic, bpa free, catch container.

you also get a bpa free pulp catching container. so you get a set of two. on the green star elite, you only get a juicecatch container, and you must provide your own pulp catch container. now, aside from these parts to catch the juice, each juicer comes with a myriad of other parts. for example, the twn30s also comes with whatis called a blank plate. and this allows you to make things like frozenfruit sorbets and nut butters. i’ll put a link down below, if i remember,to a video i did showing the twn30 doing this task.

and it actually did some amazing sorbet. i was quite impressed. and it comes with also the standard woodenpusher, and that’s the pusher i recommend you guys use. some twin gear juicers, such as the greenstar elite, come with a plastic pusher. and if you don’t put the plastic pusherin the right direction, it may grind the plastic in your juice, which i don’t recommend. so for that reason i like the wooden pusher. and the wood pusher will contact the gears– that’s totally fine.

this is a hardwood, the same kind of woodthey make cutting boards out of. and if it should grind off a little bit, don’tworry. it’s just 100 per cent pulp or fiber. it’s going to come out with the pulp. so that’s that. and then the other thing is the green starelite also comes with that blank plate to allow you to make things like nut buttersor frozen fruit sorbets. it also comes with a core screen, so that’sa screen that has actually a larger hole size. so this allows you to make a juice with morepulp in it, or maybe good for juicing things

like fruit that may not go through the smallholes of the fine screen. in addition, the green star elite does havesome optional accessories that you can purchase separately – including the pasta makingattachment. that’s i think $100 or maybe a little bitmore. and also, an additional fruit attachment. now, the fruit attachment is maybe not thebest word for it. basically, it’s just an outlet adjustingknob that’s optimally designed for fruit. the standard outlet adjusting knob. and it’s this knob’s job to keep backpressure on the pulp, to keep it in the machine.

i think i showed you guys this earlier. this is the one off the green star elite, and here is the one off the twn30. so they both have springs. the spring on this is actually a lot morestout – and, pressing back on it, i could do it but it’s definitely hard. and yeah, i mean, they’re both pretty hardtension. maybe the twn spring tension is a little bitfirmer. but anyway, the fruit attachment basicallyhas a softer spring tension, so it allows the fruit to come out without being held back.

the problem is this attachment puts too muchback pressure, so the fruit does not come and it will get clogged up in the machine– you’ll kind of see it in the feed chute. the way you can juice fruit without buyingthat attachment, what i recommend for you guys is actually just to leave this off andjuice the fruits. or you could take this and screw it and, justscrew it in maybe halfway – don’t screw it all the way in. and you could play with this. i mean, as you learn the green star elite, you’re going to learn where you need to put this.

in general, i recommend if juicing hard vegetables, leafy green and fruit mixed in, like a mixer juice, crank it all the way down. and be sure to rotate the produce you’reputting in the machine. i have an excellent video. if i remember, i’ll put a link down below. it’s about how to use the green star elitejuicer, because there is a little bit of a learning curve, and you should use it thebest way possible to get the best result. so the pasta making attachment that i touchedon earlier, i personally don’t recommend that.

most people may buy it and they may neveruse it. plus, if you’re going to spend $100 on apasta maker, it’s not good to make this machine into a pasta maker that only extrudesthe noodles. and this makes like cooked, grain pasta – notlike raw spaghetti pasta out of zucchinis. that’s a different machine altogether. you should get a ron popeil pasta maker, becausethat you put all the mixture in there and it mixes it, it extrudes it, it does everythingfor whatever it costs – like the same or less price than the attachment for the greenstar elite. and that’s just my personal opinion on that.

but yeah, nonetheless, green star elite ismore flexible than the twn. so anyway, we’re all setup ready to juice. we’ve got our collection bowls underneatheach of the machines, and we have a common collection bowl that i’ll be using to collectthe pulp from both machines today, to keep cleaning easy for me. because after a juice off, i have lots ofthings to clean. we’re going to collect the pulp in the greenstar elite, then we’re just going to go ahead and slide it over and collect the pulpon the twn. and we’re going to make it one side is oneside, one side is the other side.

so we can compare that at the end of the juiceoff. i think that’s pretty much it. what i want to get into next is actually juicing. i think i will juice in the green star elitefirst – our nine carrots, 32 ounces. what i will be doing for you guys today issetting up a timer so you guys can see how long it takes me, so that you guys can learnwhich juicer takes longer to juice between the green star elite and the twn. and at the end of this juice off we’re goingto do a yield comparison. on your marks, get set, go.

all right, hit the start button, let’s getjuicing. always when juicing i do encourage you guysto put the small end of the carrot in first to make sure this outlet adjusting knob iscranked in. i’m literally taking the pusher and i canpush a carrot into the green star elite with one finger. now it’s a little bit difficult. good thing i’ve got some strong fingers. but let’s see if we can get that carrotall the way in there. yeah, you hear the auger grinding the woodenplunger.

so yeah, definitely good, no problem usingone finger on the green star elite. all right, let’s see if i can use my leftfinger. not as strong as my right one, but nonethelessit’s still juicing. it looks like out of the pulp spout we’vegot a few drips of juice initially, and now it’s just all coming out pulp only. what i want to do next for you guys is actuallyjust speed this up. you’ll see this at high speed, see me juiceall this stuff. we’ll come back at you to see how long ittook. all right, now the last carrot on the greenstar elite.

pretty much for every one of them i’ve beenable to use one hand – my left hand, which is not my strong hand. my right hand is my strong hand. so let’s push this last carrot in once againwith my left hand. and i’m using some downward pressure, youknow. it’d be easier if i was standing up andabove it, getting some leverage on it. but yeah, no problem for me. but once again, if you do have arthritis orweaker hands or whatever, these may not be the juicers for you.

so let’s see, look down in the chute, itlooks like it all got in there. and let’s go ahead and turn this machineoff and let’s check our time. all right, looks like we’re under threeminutes. two minutes and 52 seconds when i originallysaw it. and that went fairly well. i’ve got all the pulp here, got the juice, and we’re done. you know, that’s how long it took to juicethat two pounds. so two pounds in three minutes. if you’re juicing four pounds, we can extrapolate– that’s a fancy word there – and it

would probably take about double the time. probably about six minutes. so now we’ve got this pulp on this halfof the bowl, and now we’re going to go ahead and juice in the twn30s, make sure it’sproperly assembled. let’s go ahead and move over our carrots, and let’s go ahead and get our timer ready. so that’s going. you guys can see it. and now pretty much the same thing on thetwn30s. once again, you want to feed the carrots insmall side first, and we’re going to go

ahead and press that in. now definitely pressing it in on the twn isa little bit harder. you know, you have bigger gears and a biggermouth on the green star elite. so what’s easier, let’s see if i can doit with the one finger trick. oh, i can barely do one finger, it’s sohard. okay, i can’t do one finger any more. all right, i could do one hand. so yes, it definitely takes more force inthe twn30s. so if you get a twn30s, maybe you can forgoyour gym membership for your wrist and arm

exercises. oh, this carrot is quite big. i hope it fits down the feed tube. it’s pretty much maxing out the feed tubesize there. all right, this is going to take like twohands because this carrot is so thick. i mean, i’m using some pretty strong forcehere to juice in the twn. definitely not for the faint of heart. so yeah, we’re going to go ahead and juiceall this stuff. we’ll fast forward it and you guys can seeme juice, and we’ll come back at

you when we’re done. we’re just about done. i’ve got two carrots left and the problemwith these carrots is the diameter is so large that it actually won’t fit in the twn. and actually i didn’t pre-cut the carrotsbecause i didn’t plan for this. i figured the green star elite can fit themin there no problem, but the twn has a smaller feed chute, not going to fit. so i’ve actually got to run and get a knifebecause i didn’t bring a knife to this juice-off fight.

all right, i’ve got a knife. we’re going to go ahead and just slice thisdown the middle. and now we should be able to feed this carrotin. yeah, and definitely you can see me pushingon it. you can see the whole front end of the twnkind of sink down a little bit. i’ve got that in there. how about that other half a piece? finally this last carrot here. once again, too large diameter.

i’m just going to go ahead and cut rightdown, feed in these little, small pieces first. it’s definitely harder to push things intothe twn30s. let’s go ahead and put the last carrot intothe twn30s. it’s going in fine this time, once it’sbeen cut. still, nonetheless, a little bit harder topush into the end. i see a little bit of a backup of juice herein the feed chute. and once you put this last carrot in, useyour plunger to try to get all the pulp and everything into the gears, to get those gearsto grab it and work its way out. so yeah, that looks like we’re pretty muchdone juicing the twn30s.

i’m going to go ahead and turn that babyoff. thank god we’re done. all right, let’s check our time here onthe twn. wow man, look at that. the twn30s, five minutes and 30 seconds. so maybe if i had a knife and i could havecut that other piece up quicker, maybe we could have gotten down to five minutes. but nonetheless it took me three minutes onthe gse and it took me five minutes to juice the same two pounds of carrots.

so, if time is important to you, you wantto definitely get a gse if you’re going to get a twin gear juicer. i mean, could have juiced almost four poundsof carrots in six minutes, and it took me nearly five and a half minutes to juice twopounds in the twn. the next thing, what i want to do – let’sgo ahead and clean this little thing out a little bit. i want to go ahead and check the pulp herefor you guys. i don’t know if you guys can see, but here’sboth pulps. this is the twn side, this is the gse side.

for you guys on the camera, it probably looksfairly similar. to me, i mean, it looks fairly similar. i always like to do the hand test, and i justkind of put the hand in. we’ll grab a handful of pulp here on thetwn side. get it into my palm here and squeeze. let me show you guys this. okay, so i’m squeezing out the pulp betweenmy hands, and you guys can see some drops of juice. not so much.

next let’s go ahead and take the gse sidepulp. i’ll pack that in my hand here and do thesame thing. squeezing that and, you know, maybe a littlebit more juice – but this pulp is very dry, you know? the twin gears will make the driest pulp oncarrots of any of the juicers that we sell at discount juicers. i’ll just go ahead and put the pulp aside, since now we want to play with the juice. okay, so when done juicing i always recommendyou guys tip up the juicer forward, back, getting any of the last drips in there.

the same thing with the gse. tip it up, tip it back, all right. no rogue drips on that one. and next we’re going to go ahead and comparethe juice that we made in each of the machines. now, to have a fair fight, what we’re goingto do is we’re going to basically strain the juices. because if one juicer made more pulp in thejuice, that would artificially inflate the yield. and i don’t want to do that.

so let’s see, i’m going to go ahead andput our juice through a strainer here, a sieve. and i’ll go ahead and pour that throughfor you guys, and show you guys how much pulp is created. i’m pouring that in, the gse5000 juice throughthe strainer. all right, and i don’t know if you guyscan see that, but there’s a little, small pulp patty in there. so there’s not so much pulp in the gse. and that would be an acceptable amount todrink. i mean, everybody says, man, you need fiberin your diet.

well yes, you definitely need fiber, and onceagain i want to remind you guys that even in the juice that we just made it’s approximately50 per cent fiber because there’s two kinds of fiber – soluble and insoluble fiber. all that soluble fiber is still in the juiceand we’re losing all the insoluble fiber here, and there is still a little bit left. let’s go ahead and strain out the juicefrom the twn30s now. i’ll show you guys that. once again, really nice consistency on that, also. it looks like it’s definitely collectingless pulp in my sieve there.

so if you want a pulp-free juice or virtuallypulp-free juice first time through without sieving, you want to get the twn30s. i mean, there’s a few bits in there, butbarely nothing. and then over on the gse5000 side, definitelya little pulp patty there for you. now let’s go ahead and do a close up shotand see which one of these juicers made more juice. all right, let’s do a close up on the juicebowls for you guys. let’s start with the omega twn. as you guys can see, the twn, 450ml – it’sunder the 450ml.

there’s the 400ml line right below it. so i’m going to say it’s probably about,i don’t know, right in between. so not 425, maybe like 430. and then going over to the green star eliteside, look at that. the green star elite is pretty much rightat the 450ml line. so we can go ahead and do a side-by-side comparisonfor you guys, so you guys could see clearly that the green star elite won this juice-off,but it was a close fight. so you guys just saw that the green star elitebeat out the twn30s. now, this was not any kind of major victory.

this was kind of like one of those photo finishesif you’re into horse racing. i mean, this probably made like 450ml andthis made like 430ml. like, 20ml extra. does 20ml really matter? and i want to remind you guys that yield isonly one aspect when comparing juicers. so, although the green star elite won in theyield by about 20ml, there’s many other things that the green star has that the twn30doesn’t have – and then there’s actually benefits of the twn30 that the green starelite doesn’t have. so i’m going to go ahead and do my bestsummarize some of these for you, and explain

to you guys which juicer might be a betterjuicer for you under certain circumstances. and then i’m going to ahead and declarethe winner of this juice-off comparison. so, if you want the juicer with the longestwarranty, guess which one you’re going to get? you’re going to get the twn30s. it has a 15 year warranty compared to only12 years, which is still mighty long, on the green star elite. if you’re like old or you can’t lift heavythings like the green star elite, you want a lighter juicer that’s easier to pick up,easier to transport, carry – if you’re

going to be like traveling with it in yourcarry on suitcase like i have in the past with my juicers – you’re going to wantto go with the twn30s. it’s more compact, weighs less. it’s smaller, it’s going to take lesscounter space, because this guy is a behemoth. it’s significantly larger. if you guys are price-conscious and reallywant to get the least expensive machine, then go for the twn30s because it costs less thanthe green star elite, actually. you can invest the extra money that you’renot paying for the green star elite to put in a garden and grow your own produce, right?

i want to encourage all you guys to grow yourown food, because when you grow your own kale and wheatgrass and carrots, and all thesekind of things, the cost for you to have your own produce is minimal. it’s super cheap if i have unlimited greensin my garden all year long to juice. and most of you guys are suckers and are stillpaying $2, $3 for a bunch of greens in the store. have you counted them lately? six or seven or maybe eight leafy greens for$2 or $3. man, grow ‘em!

they’re super easy. so these are some of the reasons why i likethe twn30s. i mean, if you want to get a better workoutwhen you’re juicing, get a twn30s because you’re going to have to push harder thanin the green star elite. i just like to kind of lay it out there likeit is. and, you know, every juicer has their prosand cons. and i’m just here sharing with you guyshow they work and my take on it, right? so over to the green star elite, if you wanta wider feed chute so you don’t have to cut produce up to fit into a smaller feedtube and want ease of use, get the green star

if you want a higher yield, get the greenstar elite. if you want the cadillac of the twin gearjuicers, in my opinion, get the green star if you want the highest nutritional quality, get the green star elite. it’s my belief, based on research i haveseen, that the green star elite with its magnetic and far-infrared technologies inside the machinewill make a higher quality juice and that juice will remain stable for a longer periodof time. which means, if you want to store your juice,it’s definitely important to get the green star elite because of the effects that themagnetics and far-infrared have on it. it’s not going to degrade over time.

and tribest has a study on the green star72 hour stability study, so this is very important. if you want a nice, heavy duty juicer, thenyou want to go with the green star elite because it definitely weighs a lot more. i mean, overall, if you’re going to be usingyour juicer a lot, get the green star elite because it’s not as prone to shutting downafter long term use. that being said, i do not recommend juicingsessions for more than maybe a half hour, 45 minutes at a time. if you’re going to do that, juice for aperiod of time, stop and let your juicer cool down, and then get back to juicing later.

although the green star has been showing tohandle running four hours straight – so that’s just a testament to the ability. i mean, you guys saw the comparison beforewhen i compared these two machines side-by-side and all the different parts. basically, if you want a better build quality,go with the green star elite. so i can’t say always get the green starelite. there are some reasons why you might wantto get the twn30s, but there’s a lot more reasons in my opinion why you would probablywant to get the green star elite. and that’s why i’m going to have to declarethe winner of this juice-off the green star

elite by tribest. not only did it make more juice, not onlydid it take two minutes less to feed the produce in, it’s probably going to be a little easierto clean because all the parts come off a little bit easier and there’s bigger passagewaysinstead of small nooks and crannies to clean. i mean, both companies have really superiorcustomer service, from the feedback i’ve gotten from my customers. i mean, green star elite all the way. i guess the final thing i’d like to do foryou guys is taste the juice. i don’t think i’ll be able to taste anydifferences between the two different ones,

but we’ll find out. that’s a nice, clean, rich carrot juiceafter straining. i don’t detect any pulp in there. i mean, this is about as good as a two stagehydraulic press machine. now we’re going to try the twn30s juice. i mean, these carrots were in the same big. the juices pretty much taste the same to me. i mean, that’s pretty much the end of thisjuice-off. i’ve got four cups of juice i’m goingto get to drink now, and enjoy.

and i remind you once again that carrots area really good food and you should be including them in your diet. one of the many reasons why carrots are sogood is because they have beta-keratin. and what the beta-keratin does is, when youdrink it, it goes into you and then basically the beta-keratin is pushed into every cellof your body. and this is evidence for some people thatif you drink carrot juice every day, a lot of carrot juice, you’re going to turn alittle bit orange. don’t worry, this is all right. because what that is, it’s all the carrotjuice, the keratinoids, going into every cell

in your body and turning it a little bit orange. and even if you can’t see it, it’s stillhappening. and when the carrot juice or the keratinoidsare sitting inside your cell and the free radicals come or potential diseases come, the carrot juice basically nullifies the free radicals. so that it protects you before your cellsare personally damaged. so this is why i love the carrot juice aswell as all the other fruits and vegetables that these two juicers allow you to processand get into your diet. so, if you guys are looking into juicers,i encourage you guys to support me and my
