high quality stainless steel kitchen sinks

alright! this is john kohler with discountjuicers.com.got another exciting episode for you. what i'm going to do today for you guys is somethingthat is often asked of me. john, i hate cleaning my juicer, how can i make juicer cleaningeasier, what can i do? and so that's actually this video. my top tips on how you can cleanyour juicer fast and easy. and that's simply it. i want you guys to not see cleaning yourjuicer as a hindrance. a lot of people go oh i've got to use a juicer because it's healthyand it's good for ya, you know, i could lose weight and have more energy, and get moreof the vital nutrients and vital chemicals and vitamins and minerals into me so i candisease-proof myself, but at the same time people really dread the clean-up. let me tellyou something, i really dread the clean-up

of my toilet bowl more than the juicer actually.some juicers i actually look forward to juicing and cleaning because it works so easily andit is very simple to clean than scrubbing and getting all the stains out of my toiletbowl. anyway that might be tmi. in any case a juicer cleaning does not have to be thathard and with these ten tips i'm going to show you guys it's going to be easy so youget more fresh fruits and fresh vegetables in your diet through juicing because juicingallows you to supersize the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat because the standardamerican is simply not eating enough of these bentfiail fruits and vegetables that are diseasepreventative and have many vital chemicals and vital nurtutants and are low in caloriescompared to other foods that people are eating

like processed foods that are [indiscernible]that are very high in calories but low in nutrition. fresh vegetable juice especiallyare high in nutrition and low in calories. and these are the foods that we really wantto focus on if you have goals like losing weight or maintaing your weight like i havenow for the last twenty years, or having more energy or healing yourself from health challengesyou maybe having. i bet many people and you can read the testimonials on how they've lostweight and have more energy and healed their ailing conditions that they've had for manyyears by simply including more fruits and vegetables juices in their diet. so withoutfurther ado let's get into the ten tips so you can get juicing easily and clean yourjuicer easily and enjoy your fresh fruit and

vegetable juices. so tip number one, the biggest tip i wantto share with you guys, and if you don't remember anything else from this video remember oneand that's why this tip is going first, clean the juicer right after your done juicing.this is super important, super critical. you know even if the phone rings, don't leavethe juicer sitting with all the pulp sitting inside there, the stains setting in, the pulpdrying in the screen. it's just going to make cleaning five times harder if you let yourjuicer sit for any length of time after you are done juicing. i've gotten distracted,it doesn't happen very often, but i've gotten distracted and let my juicer sit for two hoursand it made the juice cleaning twice as hard

and i was not looking forward to cleaningit because now the stains were already set in. so that's not good. so clean the juicerright after you're done using it. tip number two, have the proper tools to cleanyour juicer. alright? i've got a few today that i'm going to share with you guys. firstthing i want to share with you guys, a sponge, a standard scrubbing sponge, if it has thescouring pad on there, that's not the proper tool to clean the juicer. that's kind of likemashing in the pulp and it doesn't really clean things too well. so what i recommendis a nice bristle brush, a stiff bristle brush. i actually get mine at ikea. i really likeones they have there. they're actually inexpensive so i can replace these as often so they don'tget any kind of bacterial build-up or anything

like that. you could also put these throughthe dishwasher to sterilize them. but the bristles are nice and stiff not like soft.so like a toothbrush would be kind of soft. you can use this to really get in there andscrub free the pulp. in addition many juicers these days come with cleaning brushes. nowhere's a brush that one of the juicers come with. but the challenge is you see the brushtip, there's not a lot of bristles on there. whereas there's at least two times or threetimes as bristles on my brush. that's why i use my brush as opposed to the brush thatcomes with the machine. cause now my actions are multiplied by two or three because thereare that many more bristles that are going to contact all of the different surfaces ofthe juicer to get them clean. the other thing

you may want to do is have some other kindsof brushes. i have brushes like these. these were purchased at a really cool japanese storecalled [indiscernible] and it was like $1.50 or something for these three brushes. butthere's different sizes. so this allows to get in different ports of the machine suchas the spouts and some of the hard to reach areas with these special brushes. i reallylike that a lot. some other items i use to clean the juicer that have been helpful forme in the past are one of these mr. clean magic erasers. this can help buff out anyresidual stains that maybe stuck in the juicer to get them out. this does work with varyingdegrees of success. and to not necessarily clean the juicer parts but to clean the juicerbody and motor body i like to use one of these

microfiber cloths here. it tends to reallyscrub and get in there easily-- more easily than a paper towel or a cotton cloth would.it's almost like fine sandpaper but it won't scratch anything. it really picks up and carriesthe dirt or stains off with it. sometimes i wet this to help scrub and get in there.now i want to demonstrate how i use the cleaning brush to clean the juicers. we have the [indiscernible]elite here. it's a [indiscernible] ejection style machine. probably one of the most popularjuicer styles on the market at this time. the [indiscernible] ejection. i'm not a bigfan of the [indiscernible] ejection style machines so i will put a link down below wherei compare the slow versus the fast juicers because each of them have their pros and cons.i personally believe now at this point that

the high speed juicers are more so a con thana pro and are maybe not so good. but in any case, here's the top part we can get in herewith a brush and brush out all the areas. but the hardest part to clean on any juiceris not nesscialry the juicer parts, you know you get your brush you and you brush out, clean out and wipe out. but the hardest part to clean in any juicer is the juicing screen.it's these little fine stainless steel holes that literally pulp will get clogged intoand when pulp gets clogged into these holes and you don't clean them immediately, pulpwill get stuck in there and then dry. which will then effectively close up the pores ofthe holes on the juicer which means the juice will not be able to flow out of the juicerwhich means your yield will be reduced. so

with the large you just take this and brushthis out, all the way around and also on the back side. right? as i'm putting this underneathwater and underneath the sink. and doing this a few times while water is blasting on itis enough generally to get it clean. so yeah, have the right tools and that'll make yourjuicer clean up significantly easier. alright, my third tip is a cleaning tip havingto do with the pulp catch bin. this the pulp catch bin on the [indiscernible] on the juice[indiscernible]. all the pulp is ejected out here at very high rates of speed and if thisis not in place you're going to get pulp flying everywhere. actually i prefer the lower rpmor the slow juicers because the pulp just kind of dribbles out at a slow and moderatepace. but any case this next tip will work

with any style juicer, high speed or low juicers.and what it has to do with your pulp catch bin and just simply taking one of those plasticproduce bags that you got that you purchased and put your produce in and living this withthe plastic bag. and in this way if you're done, you can take the plastic bag, and ifyou have a compostable plastic bag you guys just put it in your compost pile. i compostall of my food straps. but when you have all of your pulp in the plastic bag, take theplastic bag out, throw this in the freezer, if you want to reuse your pulp later and addit to soups or banana bread or whatever else or cakes or pies and then you don't have toclean this one. so that's going to save you some time right there.

tip number four to save time and making yourjuicer easier is to buy a juicer with less parts to clean and more importantly less screenarea to clean. as i showed you guys just a little bit ago, the most difficult part toclean on any machine is the juicing screen because the pulp gets stuck in all of theseholes around here. [indiscernible] elite takes me several minutes to clean and over herewe have the omega nc800 which in my opinion is the easiest juicer to clean on the wholeentire market at this time. there's just a few parts to clean including the end cap,the juice screen, the auger and then this main housing which easily comes off that youcan basically just blast water through and brush out. but i wanted to show you guys thescreen area because that's an important factor

for me in cleaning. this is a [indiscernible]screen, you can see there's just a lot of screen area with holes. and on the nc800 youcan see this is the screen area and it's cinindulcal and there's just not a lot of screen area.if we took this and unwrapped it all the way it might be a quarter of the [indiscernible]elite. in addition there's a first stage juicing screen here that's made out of plastic. sopretty much because these holes are nice and large pulp does not get stuck in them as theydo these smaller holes in the stainless steel section. so this makes cleaning of the nc800even easier. for me it takes about a minute and a half to clean this machine, pretty takesme on the [indiscernible] at least double that. so yes, purchase a juicer that is easierto clean. so the omega nc800 is the easiest

horizontal single auger juicer and if youare looking for a vertical single auger juicer that's easy to clean, the easiest one to dateis the omega vsj843. and that's the one i choose to use in my kitchen because it actuallyis easier to clean than any other vertical single auger plus it works overall a littlebit better than most other machines on the market. tip number five when cleaning your juicer,i like to wash my juicer in the kitchen sink. and in my kitchen sink i have an option ofsprays on my faucet. so normally they have that standard air rated faucet spray thatjust kind of dribbles the water out; it just has a single stream. instead of using thatto clean my juicer, i put it on the one that's

like a shower like rain beads that are dispersedand they're coming down at more high pressure and they're smaller lines of water streamscoming on at high pressure. and then i have that running while i'm brushing with the brushthe screen and the juicer parts underneath the running water and this helps to move thepulp off the juicing screen and off the juicing parts into the sink which is then caught bymy strainer in the sink, which then all those particles go into my compost pile. but byusing the high pressure sprayer in your faucet it's going to be a lot easier to clean. ofcourse i know some of you guys want to save water and not want to run the water the wholetime. that's fine. you can just scrub yours underneath water, in a tub of water if youwant to save water. that's going to take a

little bit longer because the pulp is notbeing dislodged by the blasting of the water out. that being said another reason to usethe sprayer, when you're spaying and cleaning your produce of all the dirt, the germs, andbacteria, you know it's been shown that just the pressure of spraying the water on yourproduce can help clean some of the residual toxins off of it. tip number six is actually a tip i like togive you guys. i often get e-mails that say hey john, i haven't been the best at cleaningmy juicer, my juicer's quite stained, and it has the orange [indiscernible] carrot stainsor [indiscernible] stains or beet stains or even drain juice stains in the juicer. andthose are the color pigmented stains juicers

will also pick up on mineral deposit stains.if you have hard water and clean your juicers with hard water. so for both of these situationsi recommend doing the same thing. and basically what that is soaking the juicer parts in abig dish tub or five gallon bucket with hot water and cascade dishwasher detergent. sothat's the kind you'd use in an automatic dishwasher. put a bunch of that cascade inthere with that hot water; soak your juicer parts overnight. after you take them out thenext day, scrub them with a brush underneath running water, that should clean up the juicerto looking like new for you guys. if you don't want to use the cascade, you know i have heardthat people also use vinegar and baking soda. put that on there, let that soak in, thenscrub your juicer. you may have to soak it

in a tub of water to get all of your juicerstains out. now in the past i have made videos and i have recommended using oxyclean andhot water and soaking your parts in that, which i have done, which does work, but i'mconcerned that doing this over long periods of time may damage the plastic on the juicers.and this is something i was not aware about earlier but i am now so i am updating whati recommend to you guys based on my latest information. tip number seven i want to share with youguys today. actually came from one of my customers actually. so thank you. and this is a goodone. it's juice ice when you're finished juicing. now this will work better or worse dependingon the style of juicer you have. on the slow

juicers this will work much better than onthe high speed juicers, which actually you just might make a mess, but you'll still probablyclean a little bit. but anyway, by juicing some ice in a slow juicer, the juicer willfractionate the ice into small bits, those small bits will actually run through the juicerand dislodge pieces of pulp that would normally be stuck when you are done and ready to clean.also when you're juicing ice, the juicer will crush up the ice into small bits which willhelp clean the juicer as like a grit, but when it will actually melt into your juiceand then maybe you'll have a little bit extra water in your juice when you are finished.so this is actually a brilliant idea. and this is something you may want to try butbe careful, don't put too large pieces of

ice in some juicers or it may actually damagejuicer which would not be a good thing. another thing you can do with ice especially on thevertical single auger juicers, because those juicers tend to get clogged up or if you wantto switch out juicing one juice to another juice is juice ice in between the differentingredients your juicing cause one again that will help flush and push through some of theingredients. so this is something i actually have not reied yet, but i thought i'd sharewith you because it is valuable and maybe able to help you get the juicer cleaner soyou don't have to do as much scrubbing when you're done juicing. tip number eight is for juicers like verticaljuicers that have a stopper on the spout that

prevents dripping on your counter but it alsoallows you to use an auto cleaning feature of the vertical juicers with the spout cap.so when you're done juicing you're going to go ahead and close the spout cap and pourin about 24oz of water and basically the water's going to circulate as the automatic wipingblade is spinning around and this will help dislodge some of the pulp and help clean outyour juicer just a little bit. let it run for like a minute or two then drain out allof the dirty water. and you could use that to water your plants outside or inside. thenclose that up and now you're ready to take apart this juicer and ready to clean it. it'sgoing to make cleaning a little bit easier and it only works on the vertical juicerswith the spout cap.

so tip number nine is for those of you guyswho weren't paying attention to tip number one. which is to clean your juicer immediatmentlyright after your done juicing. so this tip is if you're not going to clean it immediatelyand you gotta do something else. minimally, take all the juicer parts off the machine, take all the juicer apart, take these and soak them in a dish pan with hot water anddish soap or in your sink with the plug in there, but soak them in water with some dishsoap. that way the stains will not set in as bad as if you didn't do this. so the worstpart of cleaning any juicer is if the juicer is sitting uncleaned for any length of time.that really, really, really makes cleaning harder. so if you're not going to do it immediately, minimally soak the parts. but i do encourage

you guys to clean it right after you're done. so tip number ten is something you may notbe expecting from me. if you don't do the nine other tips and juicer cleaning is stilltoo difficult for you, i want to encourage you guys that are you worth it. you are worthtaking some extra time out of your day to clean the juicer. even if it takes five minutes, some of you guys might be slow and it takes ten minutes, or whatever, you are worth it.because when you juice you are making an investment in your health. which is the one thing youguys own free and clear. your money is not the most important thing. your health is.your health is your greatest wealth. you may have heard this before because if you don'thave your health, if you're six feet under,

you can't enjoy all your money, you can'tenjoy your husband, you can't enjoy your wife, your kids, you can't enjoy the movie that'scoming, the new movie that's coming out friday night, you can't enjoy playing internet videogames, you can't enjoy anything that you enjoy doing in your life. you won't be able to enjoyit if you don't have your health. and in my opinion juicing is the best way to your health.because it's going to maximize the amount of fruits and vegetables that you can getinto you that is just simply lacking in today's society. it allows you to supersize them.and if you're thinking well john wait a second man, i'm not going to juice but i'll blendbecause it's the same thing and it's a lot easier to do. and i would basically tell youguys this, while blending is definitely good

cause it also allows you to get fruits andvegetables in you which i am a 100% an advocate for. everyone should get some fruits and vegetableswhether they're juiced, whether they are blended, or whether they are eaten whole and chewedinto a mush to enjoy. the problem i see with the blenders is that number one; they don'tallow you to supersize the quantities of fruits and vegetables you're eating. for example,i could take five pounds of carrots, put it through the juicer here and simply make fivecups of juice, out the juice spout and out this side will come the pulp. and the pulpwill get discarded and will go into my compost pile. but now i have the five cups of carrotjuice. and the carrot juice has the [indiscernible] fibers, that's the fiber that's [indiscernible]in water, it also contains things like the

vitamins and the minerals and more importantlya high level of the vital chemicals and vital nutrients. these are the properties in thefruits and vegetables that will give us a protect from different diseases. so for examplein carrots, in carrot juice and in carrots they found anti-cancer properties in the carrots.and this is what you're going to get when you juice the carrots. now if you blend carrots, number one, you're going to have five pounds of carrot mush that will not taste too good,to me, maybe to you, and then it's a lot of five pounds of carrot mush that you have toget in. it literally doesn't change the volume that you're eating. cause all of the fiberis in there. i know some of you guys are saying, but john, fiber is necessary. i agree, i'mnot living on a juice diet. i don't advocate

living on juice diets for any long periodsof time. i like to get some juices and in the day time i like to get some smoothiesand i also get plenty of fruits and vegetables so i get enough fiber. and i'll tell you guysthis if you guys are eating things like animal foods like meats, dairy, eggs, right, guesshow much fiber that has? a juice that you make in the juicer that you took all of thefiber out has more fiber than those products than i am naming you guys. right? so let'sthink about this for an extra second. if you want to get more fiber, make the juicer andput some ground up flax seeds in there, alright? it'll get you more fiber and it in a beneficialway than the blending will and once again five pounds of carrots in the blender makesfive pounds of carrot mush and that's a lot

of product to be drinking or eating. in additionanother reason why i don't think blending is all that great, although i still do blendbecause there are benefits to it, is with every spin of the blender it's running ata high speed. and every time it's creating a vortex to pull everything in there to blend, people don't realize this, it's oxidized and causing oxidized damage to your food. thisis actually quite critical. it's like if you live near the ocean and you scratch your carand it starts to rust really fast because you're next to the ocean, the salt water andwhat not, that's the oxidized damage occurring. now if you live inland and it's a dry climateand you scratch your car, it's probably not going to rust because the oxyidated damageis not happening as quite quickly as near

the ocean where it's humid and where you gotall the saltwater ocean water you know in the air. so what happens is at an acceleratedrate the machine is running at 10,000 or 20,000 rpms compared to 43 rpms a lot of oxyidateddamage is occurring. now that probably doesn't damage the minerals or anything like that.and that probably doesn't damage the vitamins too much. but the thing that is most effectedin my opinion and from the research i have seen are the vital chemicals. and to me thevital chemicals are the most valuable parts of the juices. not nessicarily the fiber,i get enough fiber. now for those of you who eat meat if maybe a little different, butnonetheless the vital chemicals are most important because those are the ones that are diseaseprotective and can help feed our body what

it needs most. the antioxidants and othernutrients. and they did a recent study just last year actually where they took broccoli, blended the broccoli, in a high speed blender and juiced the broccoli in a high speed juicerand also juiced the broccoli in a low speed juicer. what they found when they put thatbroccoli and put it in a petri dish with different kinds of cancer is that overall in generalthe juice made with the low juicer had a 50% higher kill rate of those cancer cells thanthe blended or the high speed juice. so i want to ask you what kind of cancer preventiondo you want to have? do you want to have 100% prevention or a greater level of preventionwith a slow juicer or half as much prevention with a blended smoothie? and you got to makeyour decision on that. i'm just sharing with

you guys the data. i got a specific videowhere i go into the details of this study more completely. i'll actually put a linkdown below if you're interested in seeing that episode. but i do this because i almostlost my life when i was younger. i was in my twenties, i was hospitalized, i had spinalmeninsists, the doctors said i might not make it out alive, and once i got out i knew ineeded to change my lifestyle because what i was doing was not working. the standardamerican diet or the vegetarian diet that i thought i was on wasn't good enough. that'swhen i changed my diet, got into juicing, eating copious amounts of fresh fruits andvegetables. and that's what i do to this day to remain healthy. and to maintain my weightfor the last twenty years which most people

actually can't say. so i want to let you guysknow that from personal experiences this stuff works. and from personal experience juicingis worth the investment of your time to take an extra five minutes. we all have time todo whatever we want in life. you could be spending five extra five minutes not watchingnot watching that tv show at night. of not making that extra phone call when you're chattingwith your friend and it's not really that important. there's some many things you couldcut out of your life to take five extra minutes to juice. because it all comes down to priorities.so no matter what you guys do i want to encourage you guys to juice. cause you are worth it.cause the juices will make a difference in your life. they have made a difference inmine. and from all the testimonials i hear

from people they've made a whole heck of adifference in a lot of people's lives as well. and it's going to be the most bang for thebuck. and even if cleaning is difficult hopefully it will be easier with some of these tips.but i want you guys to get into juicing as a habit that you do each and every day. notas a juice fast or some kind of fad diet. but juice for breakfast instead of eatingyour normal breakfast. you will see that you are better able to lose weight or maintainyour weight, be healthier, have more energy, and have more abundance in your life by simplyadded fresh juices in your life. and once you start doing that and you notice the resultsand you notice that once you stop juicing because you're traveling, cause you're toobusy that one day, you just don't feel as

good. and that does not feel good. and whenyou have such a high level of energy and that energy get taken away from you, many of youare not familiar with this, but long-term juicers know what i'm talking about. you guysknow what i'm talking about. when juice for a long time. and if you don't juice for a\day you just feel off, it's just not right. that's why once you get into the habit ofjuicing every morning for breakfast instead of eating your breakfast you'll just wantto continue this for the rest of your life. and hopefully this video has helped you outso you can save a little bit more time juicing. now if you guys enjoyed this episode, i wouldencourage you guys to support me and my work by making your purchase at discountjuicers.com.this goes to directly support me so i can
