this bettendorf master bath was already a great amountof space to work with. afterusing the original layout for a while, thehomeowners knew exactly whatfew changes could make the room even better suite their needs.take a look at this newspacious master bathroom. a warm neutral choiceof materials and a traditionalstyle create a gorgeous getaway forthis home. lets tour some ofthe main layout changes made to thisspace. your first impression inthis new master bath is the archedarea that is now custom fitwith a cherry bench seat. while a large jacuzzi orsoaking tub can be an eyecatching look
for any master suite. they takeup a lot of space. if you don'tuse the tub there may be a betterway to utilize that same area.in this case the tub is replaced with acherry bench complete with awood top to match. this bench doesn't just lookgreat it was an opportunity toadd a lot of extra storage. each ofthese decorative fronts opensup to revel a storage drawer. perfectfor storing away towels or toiletries it's functional andbeautiful. right above the bench is an arched valence that wasadded to compliment the archesthroughout the home. this homeowner was inspired tohave this look and to get itjust how she wanted
it our carpenters created atemplate of the arch with herso everyone was on the same page for the lookbefore anything permanently wasinstalled. on either side of the arch arewooden corbels finished tomatched the bench below. this gives the arch a greatanchoring end point and helpstie the wood tone to the space below.the arch and corbels are perfect backdrop for this new cagedlight fixture. this entire wallis a jaw dropping first impressionas you enter the new masterbath. the largest structural change was in theshower area. the original shower was blocked in by a wallon either side as well as thesoffit area
above that dropped down to capthe original shower. now thiscustom tiled shower has been opened upto the entire room and withglass surrounding it on 2 sides the user will neverfeel cramped or crowded withthis new look. a wall niche was installed forshower items and a tile benchseat in the corner was added. all ofthe bath tile was selected tocompliment the entire finish look. a custom tiledshower requires tile sizes and shapes for the completedlook. your designer at villagehome stores will work with you and theinstallers to select theperfect materials for your shower project. outside of theshower you can step directlyonto the heated
tile floor. this feature is ahidden one, but an upgradewe've never heard a customer regret. tilefloors can get pretty chillyduring midwest winters, and whenreplacing your tile floor in abathroom it's the perfect time toconsider heating that space.the bathroom vanities here were existing, butupgraded with brand new granitecountertops and sinks. the granite selected perfectlyties the painted and glazed vanities to the newcherry bench. mixing woods is becoming more and morepopular, but mixing hardwarefinishes is still a scary are for somepeople to try out. this master
bathroom is a wonderful exampleof how to get a great finishedlook with multiple hardware finishes throughout. dark richoil rubbed bronze can be foundon the vanity lights, the cabinethardware, and that great cagedlight we mentioned earlier. the operating plumbing fixtureshowever have been installed in a polished chromefinish. imagine this sameshower with the dark bronze fixtures. they would stand outpretty boldly, instead the polished chrome bounceslight around and keeps the lookopen and airy. another area that received afacelift was the entrance tothe master bath itself. the original oak trim and doorwere replaced with a new doorand

and a lot of natural light.light oak cabinetry and trim paired with neutral browns andbeiges are ready for an update. the layout of the space andit's designated zones workedwell but after using the space for many years theowners knew what changes theywanted to make to make the space work evenbetter. the entire bathroom wasdemoed including the master bedroomattached to the bath. yourfirst view as you enter the bathroom is this alcovethat is home to the jacuzzi tub. to prepare the space we removethe original tiled pedestal tuband wood apron, and opened up the back alcovefor the new free standing tub.
an arched tray ceiling abovethe new tub will frame in thisstatement wall and help to draw your eye fromthe unique tub shape below tothe new light above it. the shower willremain in the same location,but the addition of a bench seat, custom wallshelf, and a complete newshower head and control system will make it anincredible space to use. with some tile selection of thetile is only half of thejourney. the design and placement ofyour selections can sometimesbe what truly makes a job lookamazing. in the case of this customtiled shower the mosaic accents will be added. in place of theexpected horizontal bandsurrounding
the shower, vertical strips ofmosaic will be placed to accentthe shower bench seat, shower controls,and the entrance wall. accent tile will also beincluded in the shower wallshelf and a built-in tub shelf. the same mosaic tilewill be repeated as a bold statement on each of the vanitywalls. opposite the stool andshower areas are 2 walk in closets forthe master suite. new trim and doors will beinstalled throughout the newmaster bath for an entirely new new space. the master bathroomis also being prepared toreceive our innovative adorne collection ofswitches and receptacles. youmight
not think something as simpleas a light switch could beexciting, but this adornecollection is pretty amazing. ready to seethis finished space? well here it is. who needs tobook a spa getaway at a 5 starhotel when you can wake up to andcome home to this master bathretreat. soothing colors and interestingfixtures and features give thismaster bath an upscale look and aninvitation to get away everytime the owners open the door. this newbathroom is truly stunning i would say breathtaking, butbeing in this room has theopposite effect of breathtaking instead it's relaxing andsoothing just to spend time inhere.
as you enter the new masterbath you step from new carpeting installed into the masterbedroom onto a heated tilefloor. cold bare feet are no match forthis wonderful hidden feature. the tile is a porcelain glazedceramic by iris in the grigiocolor. on either side of this shorthallway are 2 walk in closets complete with tap touchswitches, more on that later,and then just beyond this hallwayis this gorgeous tub wall. i know a lot of clients are toobusy to find the time to soakin a tub, but when this is what you haveavailable i think you'll findthe time.
the faucet is the 90 degreecollection by moen. it is aminimalist style and pairs perfectly withthe contemporary lines of thetub itself. a custom tiled wall shelf hasbeen installed for tubaccessories and toiletries. the same mosaic tile used toaccent the shower and vanity areas adds interestto this detail. the old apron front drop-in tub hasbeen replaced with afree-standing look and the same space looks somuch larger now. and to cap offan already amazing space, thislight above is absolutely whatcompletes this look. this layla light lby crystorama is so
stunning. the antique silverfinish has just a hint ofwarmth to it and with the glow of thebulbs within it casts a warmlight and unique shadows on the tray ceiling above. thislight is also dimmable and it's controlled on a set ofswitches found here. the adornecollection from legrand puts a stylishlysmart finishing touch to anyproject. this collection of switches,dimmers, and solutions is so great. with options likethese tap touch switches and soft tap dimmers, the look andfunction is wonderful. other options include pop upoutlets, wave controlledswitches, and
