at 16 she ran away from home. i had no clue what i was getting into. a woman recalls an unforgettable night . . . . the next thing i know, they’re taking turnsone after another on me. . . . . and the years of shame that followed. five men couldn’t make a decision that thisis a young girl. this could be your daughter. welcome to the 700 club. several years agowhile gold prices were running about $600 an ounce, i predicted that gold would hit$1800 an ounce; and everybody kind of gasped like, “you don’t know what you’re talkingabout.” well, we’re $200 away from that

and on the way, moving fast. why? the unitedstates dollar is in the tank. we’ll tell you more about it and what you can do to protectyour wealth. but first, in the news, people in syria have been protesting against theirrulers. and when the country is in turmoil, the terrorist group hezbollah is moving someof its key weapons out of syria. well, that’s because hezbollah seems tobe getting ready for a future war against israel. well, chris mitchell has that storyfrom jerusalem. experts say the islamic terror group hezbollahis moving it’s strategic weapons from syria to lebanon. because they are fearful of what will happenif president bashar assad falls, whose hands

will everything fall into? the instabilityin syria could threaten or endanger the assets they've been holding there. military reporter yaakov katz said it couldmean major weapons like syrian scud missiles seen in these exclusive satellite photos arecloser to israel. what exactly those assets are, israeli intelligenceofficials are not revealing. but we have heard reports over the past couple of years aboutscud missiles, possibly scud d. those are the most advanced version of the ballisticmissile that syria had transferred to hezbollah but had not been actually moved into lebaneseterritory. in 2006, the lebanese-israeli border was thefront lines of a 34-day war between hezbollah

and israel. it was the longest war in israel'shistory. now, five years later, hezbollah is a much stronger and better-equipped enemy. completely, completely, different. hezbollahin 2006, almost five years ago exactly, had about 15,000 rockets that were capable maybeof hitting tel aviv and none did during the war in 2006. today, we're talking about fourtimes that number, three-and-a-half times that number with the ability of striking anywhereinside israel. add to that thousands more hezbollah soldiers, command centers, and other weapons throughout villages in south lebanon. they are continuing to build up a serioussignificant capability with no other purpose,

apparently, except to maybe one day attackthe jewish state. while katz doubts that will happen soon, itis clear that war with hezbollah seems to simply be just a matter of time. chris mitchell, cbn news, on the israeli-lebanese border. the whole focus of our united states theselast several weeks has been on the debt crisis, “will we solve our debt problem?” andyet we have a military action in libya that’s building up. hezbollah might strike whilewe’re not paying attention. lots of things can happen. because it’s like the worldhas stopped, and all we’re focusing in on is can we raise the debt ceiling. we’lltell you more about that as we continue. lee webb has the rest our top stories, lee.

pat, a federal appeals court has temporarilyreinstated the “don't ask, don't tell” policy that bans gays in the military. the9th circuit court of appeals had ordered the policy be stopped. but the court reverseditself after a request from the obama administration. the white house wants to get rid of “don’task, don’t tell” but says it needs to be done in a slow, orderly manner, and thecourt agreed. a massive heat wave is tightening its controlover the central u.s. seventeen states under now under heat advisories or warnings. thesweltering temperatures pose health concerns for many and as heather sells reports, theycould affect food prices. the heat has killed this year’s wheat cropin texas, and cattle across the high plains

are suffering because there's so little waterfor them to drink. that sparked a record sell-off at a recent auction. normally, we sell 700-800 cows on a friday, and we're selling 1,800 to 2000 cows and it's strictly due to the drought. right now the price of cattle is high. butif ranchers are forced to continue selling, it could flood the market, forcing beef pricesdown. forecasters say the heat wave is here to stay for now. the high pressure systemshould last another five days before heading east. not moving at all, unpacking it’s bags.it looks like we'll be dealing with this high

pressure system for many days to come as itcontinues to intensify and grow in overall size. it's so hot in omaha, nebraska, that peopleare literally tossing ice into swimming pools. but the scorching temperatures are a serioussafety concern for many, including the elderly. they'll complain of dizziness, weakness, beinglight headed, and they may even start to exhibit some signs of confusion. experts advise those affected by the heatto drink lots of water, stay out of the sun, and avoid major activity outside. most ofthe country will be forced to deal with the heat this week. a total of 40 states willsee temperatures of 90 degrees or more. heather

sells, cbn news. pat, it’s been a year of strange weatherhasn’t it? it really has. we don’t know what propheticsignificance it has, but it certainly is weird, isn't it? global warming, the worst snowstormsin records, and hurricanes, and drought. but i have been for a couple of weeks in the mountainsof virginia. cool, delightful. well i have been for the past couple of weekshere in virginia beach, virginia. because i'm on vacation, too, and enjoying every minuteof it. but you know, i was watching that story. did you know that i just got my electric bill? no.

and it was almost $150 above the normal amount. are you running so much air conditioning? well, i'm trying to think. like, my air conditioningis normal, but remember i did my garden not too long ago and my landscaping? yes. so i've been running my in-ground sprinklersconstantly. and then, you know, you've got the air-conditioning and just more power tojust kind of keep everything without burning up. my place up on the mountain doesn't have airconditioning. it has breezes that come in.

it was so cool one night that i had to havetwo blankets on the bed, and then i got up and put on a jogging suit, because i was socold. well, maybe we just all need to move up tothe mountains with you pat. i'm thinking that's the solution. well that may be the answer. all right. well, the governor of oklahoma is urging people to pray for rain. gov. mary fallin says thedrought has contributed to more than 140 wildfires in oklahoma this year. she asked residentsto set aside a time of prayer on sunday. the governor says the power of prayer is a wonderfulthing. god bless her, she's right. lee. pat, in other news, the white house and congressionalleaders talked through the weekend about a

plan to keep the government from defaultingon its bills. but they failed to reach a deal. many predict america's fragile economy willbe rocked if lawmakers cannot agree on a plan to raise the debt ceiling. one senate plan, though, would give president obama greater power to raise the debt ceiling while movingtoward federal spending cuts. but the house is unlikely to go along with that idea. houserepublicans believe it would take away their ability to keep the president from raisingtaxes. we've already made many, many deep cuts inspending. there is more restraint that we think is in order. he has made it clear thatfor a big deal there will have to be balance between revenue and spending.

so where's the president's plan? i’ve neverseen a piece of paper with the president's name on it that's his plan to solve this problem.i’ve seen press conferences. i've seen lectures that he's given to the congress. i've seenthese press avails, or the camera comes in and takes a bunch of pictures. i haven't seena plan. where is the president's plan? meanwhile, the house is set to pass a teaparty plan to "cut, cap, and balance" the budget. both sides appear to be heading inopposite directions as the august 2nd deadline approaches. pat, what do you think about that“cut, cap, and balance” program? well, the republicans are the only ones whoare putting out some kind of a plan. the president hasn't done it. his attempt at a budget earlierthis year was just an absolute joke. it was

a joke. you know, lee, the thing that shocksme is, we are borrowing 40 percent or 40 cents of every dollar we spend. it's all borrowed.we're borrowing from the chinese, the japanese, and out in the credit markets wherever theyare. well, that defund grants of $300 million to planned parenthood, to fund a bloated departmentof education that has a budget now of $60, $70 billion a year, to fund all kinds of wastefulexpenses, to fund pet democrat projects, we need to take an ax to these things. we shouldprobably abolish the department of education. abolish the department of energy. cut wayback on regulations. it's going to take major surgery. but we're doing it all on borrowedmoney. that's the thing that people don't seem to be aware of. it's like in your household, you take a salary and you spend it on certain

essentials, and after that you think you oughtto buy 100 hula hoops for your kids, so they'll have plenty in reserve and you fill up yourgarage with hula hoops on borrowed money. no household would do something like that.it would be crazy to go into debt on nonessentials, and that's what’s happening, nonessentials.it's not essential. we don't have to do it. the time has come when we say “no more.”well, i told you. i told you. were you listening? about gold? i told you, i've told you for years and yearsgold was going to hit $1800. didn't i say that? you told me, pat.

over and over again. did you buy gold? i keep waiting for you to give me a bar. no, i don't give bars. i tell people to buybars. i am not a giver of bars. yes, but didn't jesus talk about giving? he did and i give, but to the poor. all right.anyhow. well, lee’s got the word on gold, lee. that's right pat, gold hit another recordhigh today, over $1,600 an ounce. silver also heading higher, crossing $40 an ounce. investorssay the metals' are rising because of the

failure to reach an agreement on the u.s.debt ceiling and the ongoing debt crisis in europe. analysts say the financial marketsare worried that the u.s. could face a downgrade in its credit rating if it can't resolve thestalemate. many investors are also worried that the u.s. is just spending too much andwon't be able to get it under control any time soon. pat. well, thank you lee. and just remember ladiesand gentlemen, certain things we don't have to spend. and it's time that somebody comeout and not say, “well, let’s take away corporate jets.” i mean, as was pointedout in one program, if we had taken the money of the corporate jets, that amount, sincethe time of judas iscariot and run it all

the way to the present, it wouldn't take careof one year’s spending on the deficit of the obama administration. it's just crazy.it's not going to work. we have major, major issues that have to be solved, and intelligentadults have got to deal with it. well, some people say enough is enough. we'll be backwith more of the 700 club right after this. some people think that uncle sam is gettingtoo old and tired. they want to change america and the values that made this country great.they don't mind that almost half the population doesn't pay a dime in income taxes to unclesam yet still feel entitled to all these wonderful government programs. and they hope you won'tnotice some big changes coming, that uncle sam won't be able to afford a military orthat the us dollar won't be the world's currency.

but there are some things that they don'twant to change, things like increasing regulations, special interest group influence, spendingmuch more than they earn, and greater entitlements. right now uncle sam is losing $3.9 billiona day. it's time to stand up before it's too late, america. we're still the land of thefree and the home of the brave. call congress and tell them to stop spending your futureover a cliff. coming up later . . . . . . . . at 16 she ran away from home. a woman recalls an unforgettable night. and the years of shame that followed.

and later . . . . . . . . how you can help stop prescriptiondrug abuse. learn why your medicine cabinet is key to winning the war on drugs. tomorrowon the 700 club. well right after the war, we had a big boomof babies. people came back from the war; they started families. and this group wascalled the “baby boomers.” well, they're now starting to hit retirement age some 50,60 years later. some studies show that over 25 percent of these baby boomers will be ableto quit working at age 65. paul strand talked to a leading financial advisor about whatcouples can do to ensure they are able to retire whenever the time comes.

rick rodgers sends a major signal by helpinghis customers from this humble abode. people need to live and buy under their means. fromthese unimpressive digs, rodgers and his fellow counselors handle more than $800 million oftheir clients' assets. their message, “most every couple could live and retire well byfollowing just a few simple rules.” here is the secret to becoming financiallyindependent: spend less than what you make. it's never how much money that you make. andif you're still thinking that, “if i just made more money, it would solve my financialproblems,” you are on the wrong track. the keeners and krushinskys attended rodgers’seminars on financial planning and came away ready to tell the world.

you should be living under your means so thatif something happens, you have some savings, and you can just really flow through lifemore easily. one saying is "don't buy a house you can'tafford." clint's wife, emily, goes even further saying, “buy a house that's definitely lessthan what you can afford.” and don't feel like you have to keep up withyour friends. you don't have to start out with a gigantic house. you don't need to havetwo really nice new cars and car payments. we bought a house that we could afford onmy income, not on the combined incomes, because we both wanted emily to be a stay-at-homemom, which she is. that was the same goal of kathy and ken keener.

we did everything to get that mortgage paidoff and that was a priority for us, because of family. we wanted our kids in a christianschool. we wanted to do that, and we wanted her to be a stay-at-home mom. they lived super-frugally and in seven yearswere debt free. we didn't need new things. we drove old cars.we walked everywhere we went. we vacationed by going downtown and doing window shopping.we did lots of casseroles. but kathy says it was still a rich life. what's there for eternity? the material stuffwill not be. we live in a consumer society. you don't have to buy into that. if you buyinto it, then you work to have the stuff.

rodgers said living this way can relieve somuch stress that it can literally save your marriage. of people that get divorced, 57 percent saythat it is because of money was the major reason they got divorced. everyone has the potential to live betterif you don't have that debt load along with you. i don't believe that the lord wants youto have that burden. one of the main goals of this philosophy isso you can save, first for an emergency fund so that you don’t go into debt if an unexpectedexpense comes along. that’s generally three months of your budgetedexpenses.

then to work towards that golden retirement.you can start small if you start early, but if you wait, watch out. if you save $100 a month at age 20, you'llhave a million dollars by the time you're age 65. but if you wait until you're age 30,now you've got to save $300 a month. if you procrastinate until you're 40, now you'vegot to save $800 month to get to a million by age 65. and if you wait till you're age50, now you've got to save $2,500 a month. how much do you need? say you wanted to liveon $40,000 a year in retirement. social security will likely give you $20,000, so you'll need$20,000 more from your investments. so rodgers says:

you need to have $500,000 to produce $20,000worth of income, forever, increasing with inflation every year. if you want $40,000 a year from your investments, you'll need a million dollars. for $80,000, you'll need $2 million. the keeners pointout that doesn't happen by accident. the future is coming, and you need to preparefor it. you need to get your house in order. you need a guide. you need an able counselor. a financial counselor can point you to smartinvestments and make sure your savings don't all get eaten up by taxes. and when it comesto investments, rodgers prefers stocks and bonds. he especially likes investing in companies, because they can grow in value.

they're going to come up with products thatthey haven't invented yet. they're going to find new markets. they are going to get moreefficient at what they do. now along with a financial counselor, youneed each other and much communication. you both should be aware about what's happeningwith your kids. you both should be communicating about work. and you should be communicatingabout your finances. rodgers says realize god puts opposites together.one of you is likely a spender and one a saver. so you have to have a budget and talk andcompromise about it all the time. we need to work this out, and it starts withcommunication. couples even the youngest ones, have to realizesomeday they’re going to reach their retirement

years, and they have to prepare for them.things aren’t going to come together all on their own. paul strand, cbn news, reportingfrom lancaster, pennsylvania. thanks paul. i’m not sure about retirement.i don’t know how you handle it. well, you know what, i’ve actually beenthinking about it. even when i saw this story i thought, “hmm, am i doing that?” i wishat 20 years old i had put $100 in, what i didn’t do, but i’ve invested since i was20 years old and invested very well, which i will not speak further on. good for you! yeah, i don’t play, brother. and the otherthing, too, is i do take a certain amount

out each pay check and put it into a littlesomething-something so that when i ‘m older, i have a little something so that i don’thave to knock on your door to say, “pat, can i have a room.” well, i’m so proud of you. so when you getold and broken down. i can see we’re wheel kristi in a wheelchair to do the 700 club, and she’ll be old and faltering. but you know, we live longer, let’s face it. we’reall healthier. the medical technology is so much better. i don't know about retirement.what about retirement? you're not going to retire. well, i guess. i don't know. you just keepon going.

sharnell’s journey to this powerful positionin the sex industry started as a young girl. her mother was a blackjack dealer, leavingsharnell and her older brother alone daily. her brother had parties often, and sharnellwas intrigued by the older boys until the day they raped her. i couldn't believe that it happened. i personallyfelt foul. i felt filthy. i felt shameful. i felt guilty. i felt like, “i did this.” at 16 sharnell decided to run away and hitcheda ride with a trucker, not caring where she would end up. i had no clue what i was getting into. wheni went to the truck stop, knocked on the door,

got in with him, i didn't have a plan. i didn'tknow what would be the ultimate result of what i had just chosen. what sharnell didn't know was that the truckerexpected her to sleep with him and his friends. they had this party, and they all came intothe room; and the next thing i know they're taking turns, one after another on me. tillthis day, that's just really ripped my heart out, to think that men, even though i couldlook at my past and know that i looked older and whatever, i was more mature. but to knowthat not just one man, but five men couldn't make a decision that this is a young girl.this could be your daughter. several years later, sharnell met joe, thebrothel owner. when he offered her a position

at the brothel, she jumped at the chance.sharnell became the madam of mustang. yet, behind the money and power, sharnell suppresseda huge amount of shame. i felt a lot of disgust. i hated myself. in 1999 joe was convicted of tax evasion andfled the country. the irs closed the ranch, and sharnell lost everything. i was at the end of my rope. tired of fightingall my life and everything being so bad all my life. i couldn't see why. what is the purposefor me to be alive? what is the purpose for me to continue living in this world if i constantlyhave to battle? so what i did was i took a brand-new prescription bottle of 100 mg elavil.i slit my wrists and was hoping to call it

quits. the suicide attempt put sharnell in a comafor eight days. when she awoke, she had one thought. i was so mad that i had to stay on this planetand continue feeling pain and people hurting me. doctors sent her home to recover on bed rest.one day while watching tv, she stumbled on a man telling how he accepted jesus christas his savior. his story intrigued sharnell. i've tried everything else. nothing has worked.and there's nothing out there that i want; because i don't want to be here, because i'vetried it all. so i've got to try this one

last thing. i've got to try. sharnell asked for forgiveness and invitedjesus christ into her life. i felt renewed, refreshed, hopeful, free.everything from my past that was foul, that was painful, that was death, that was humiliating, that was shame, that was guilt, he wiped it all away. he washed it away by that prayerof me asking him into my heart. sharnell found a church home and surroundedherself with christian friends. grateful to be delivered from the pain and shame connectedwith the sex industry, she was inspired to start her own ministry. sharnell now reachesout to others in the industry sharing her story.

nothing that they have done is too big forgod to handle. nothing that they have done is so shameful that god won’t forgive them.there is nothing that can give me what christ gave me when i asked him into my heart. isn’t that amazing? she tried everything.and people do that. they’ve tried everything, and then they come to god. and you think godwould say, “look, i’m the lord of the universe, and you've made me last. and i’mnot going to be somebody's toy and plaything.” but yet he humbles himself to say, “yes, child, i’m last on the list, but if you want me, i’ll come in and take you, andi’ll remake you after my own image.” and as sharnell said, there is nothing that hewon't forgive. now, these were prostitutes

in the sex industry servicing men for money.and who knows what all else they did as far as drugs and wild living. but god forgaveher, and he forgave some of the others who associated with her. and he'll forgive you.there are no depths that you may have fallen from which god can't rescue you. he lovesyou. we say it over and over again. god loves you. you say, “well, he can't forgive me.”yes, he can. if he can forgive a famous madam of the mustang ranch in vegas, the heidi fleissof nevada, if he can forgive her, he sure can forgive you. now, do you want it? thingsare happening in our world, all kinds of weather, all kinds of strange things financially. itlooks like our whole world may be coming closer and closer to some kind of a collapse. butwhat about the kingdom of god? that goes on

forever. it rises above all this. and youwant to be part of the kingdom of god. you want to be part of god's eternal plan. andif you want to be part of something wonderful, if you want to have peace in your mind, ifyou want to have salvation, if you want to know that you are born again and you are saved,i want you to pray with me. jesus christ right now says, “yes, i know you've tried this, and you've tried this, and you've tried this, and they've all failed. now call upon me,and i’ll answer you.” so bow your head right now, wherever you are. do it now. don'twait. now. and pray these words, “jesus.” that's right. pray with me. “jesus, lord, you know the life i’ve lived. you know what i’ve done that is wrong. and, lord, rightnow, i turn away from that life, and i turn

to you. and i ask humbly, lord, that you wouldtake me, that you would forgive me, that you would make me part of your heavenly kingdom.come into my life, lord. live in me, and i will live for you, and i will serve you allthe days of my life. thank you, lord, that you've heard my prayer. and thank you thatyou've come into my heart.” now, for those of you who prayed with me, i want to prayfor you right now. just bow your head. “father, in the name of jesus, i pray for those whoprayed with me. may the power of the holy spirit come upon them right now. fill them,in jesus' name. amen.” amen! it's the greatest prayer you ever prayed.i'll tell you what i want to do. i want to give you something. i want you to get started, and i want you to grow in the lord. and i

have something called “a new day,” andi’ll give it for you free. it has a cd in here, a compact disc that will tell you in73 minutes a whole lot of things that you need to know about what you've just done andwhat will happen next. we have a book of scriptures that comes fromthis teaching that you can refer to. i'll give this to you free. if you prayed withme, it’s the most important decision you ever made in all your life. i ask you, please,go to your telephone right now: 1-800-759-0700. say, “i prayed with pat. i gave my heartto the lord. i’ve given my heart to jesus, and he has cleansed and forgiven me.” callnow. don't be afraid to call. this is free, no financial obligation. if you don't wantto give us your name, that’s fine. call

to this week’s most viewed stories, go tocbn.com. well, many a young girl has dreamed of beinga princess. well, jennifer beckham actually became one. i know. she did. take a look. i saw cinderella go by in her stagecoach.she looked out the right side of her window, and she waved. and when she did, i snappeda picture. i looked up at my mom, and i said, “mom, that’s what i want to be when igrow up. i want to be a princess.” during my college years i auditioned for disney, and i was hired on to be the princess characters of cinderella, snow white, mary poppins, bella, and sleeping beauty. and while all of that was a wonderful dream come true, it spiraledout of control into my worse nightmare. i

had suicidal thoughts, and i was in completedepression, with an eating disorder that nearly took my life. wow, what an interesting lead-in. so pleasewelcome to the 700 club jennifer beckham. jennifer, it’s so good to see you. thanks for having me. listen, i was going to tease you when we firststarted to say, okay, if you were snow white and cinderella, what are the different waves? snow white? snow white played with wharfs, so, of course, she was just fun all the time. and sorry to

disappoint, but the whole cinderella thingwas not the princess di. it was just the excited to be there, kind of washing a window, maybe.i don’t know. yes. well, you know what was so fun is wewere in the back talking, and i was kind of joking with you about the different charactersand about the different waves, and i thought it was so neat that you had to play thesedifferent characters, but actually, there was some pressure associated with it. beforewe even get to the pressure, let's talk about how you became cinderella. well, i was hired. i was hired during my collegeyears, and i was hired to be cinderella, snow white, mary poppins, bella, and sleeping beauty.and i always kind of make the joke. the joke

of the day was that i was the puerto ricancinderella, because honestly, you don’t put blond hair on top of this brown skin.there was never a point honestly that i can say that i stepped into that costume and lookedin the mirror and went, “oh, yes, i belong here.” i didn’t. i didn't belong here.so i was hired by disney. i was working at mgm studios, which is hollywood studios inorlando. and then they hired me to play the princess characters over there in japan. soit was an opportunity of a lifetime, but god had something else in mind, other than justto be this little disney princess. well, i think that's something a lot of girlslook at. we’ve all seen the fairytale, and we always say, “i would love to be likecinderella or snow white or this or that.”

you had that opportunity, but it wasn't whatyou thought it was going to be like. no, it wasn’t. i was expecting that as mydestiny to fulfill me. when i got up on top of that float, i thought it would all cometogether. i thought that i would feel like the person and the people i was portrayingevery day, all the princess characters, but my life had actually gone down into the pitand was just awful in that moment. so i was literally living what i felt to be a doublelife. i would dress up like this disney princess during the way, and the costume would comeoff, the makeup would come off, and i would look in the mirror. and at night, i was abulimic looking for love in all of the wrong places. so it wasn’t as wonderful and magical, but it’s because really life had happened.

from the time that i had that dream when iwas seven until the time that i was hired by disney, life had happened. family illnesses, father dying of cancer for two and a half years, a lot of mental illness within ourfamily. so life had happened, and as a result, i was kind of always chasing that next thing, that if i could just get there, then i would be happy. and i did that from the age of 14,after my dad passed away, up until the time that i got up on top of that float. and iremember standing up there for the first time, and i remember looking around and thinking,“i don't feel any different. i don’t feel any different. my life is the same. when isit all going to just change me?” and that's when the reality check hit. and thankfullyi had two little girls that were on cast with

me that invited me to a billy graham crusade, and that's where my life completely turned around. wow. before we get to that, that change, howdid you feel about yourself? hear you are, you’ve got this persona, you’ve got thewaves, you’ve got the beauty, obviously. thank you. but how did you feel about yourself? no. empty, alone, like everybody was talkingabout me, like nobody liked me. and i know that the women even watching the show todaylistening to that, sometimes we look at somebody that we think shouldn't have any issues, andwe almost roll our eyes and go, “you have

nothing to worry about.” but we all haveour own insecurities, our own problems, our own issues. and depending on what you’vewalked through already through life, you've got some holes in your heart. and that’swhat i felt like. i just felt empty. i felt alone. i could be standing in a room fullof a thousand people and still feel completely alone. that’s how i felt. what was the root issue? what was the rootissue that brought about those feelings and those emotions and insecurity? yes. well, there is always a lie behind thewhat. and mine, i can see in school having a lot of issues with girls. i don’t knowany woman that hasn’t had problems with

women, with girls. so i think it started wayback then. and then watching my father die. because you were bullied. yes, i was very bullied. and i think we allare, to a certain extent. but i remember one specific instance when my father was dyingof cancer, after i was gone for that week for the funeral and whatnot, i came back toschool, and i remember nobody speaking with me. nobody spoke to me in the halls. nobodytalked to me. nobody spoke to me at softball practice. and i come to find out that a lotof the girls had decided that i was getting way too much attention with my dad havingdied, that they all decided that i didn’t need any more attention, that nobody shouldspeak with me and speak to me at all. and

so just those things, those things that kindof just rip open your heart and just make you feel like you’re kind of that outcast.and when i got to disney, i really felt the same way. and i was very hurting with my father, but i didn’t like how i was feeling. i was 14. i didn’t have anybody to speak withabout that. and so i did was what we all do. i just ran to anything to self medicate, totake away the pain just for a moment. and for me that was a lot of hurtful things, bad relationships. let’s turn that corner. take me from thechallenging time to really you coming into the heart and mind and soul of jesus christand receiving him as your savior, and how that started to change your path. tell meabout that.

well, i was initially saved there at a billygraham crusade in japan, while i was being those princess characters. and then when thateuphoric high went away, and it wasn’t the quick fix that i was looking for, i didn’trealize that what was done on the inside of me had to work itself out to the outside ofme, that i had issues that i still needed to be delivered from, that i had insecurities, that i had belief systems that were completely tweaked, and that i needed to turn god, withthe word of god, to actually replace those old mindsets with some new ones. so as i beganto do that, and god began to work on those areas of me that needed to change, which iswhat “get over yourself” really is about. it’s the heartbeat of my life, is when godspoke to me and said, “it’s time to get

over yourself. it’s time to get over yourpain, your past, your insecurities, all of those things that keep you so stuck in life, because i need to use you, but i can't use you like this.” yes. yes. you have a couple principles, andwe only have a couple minutes left. what are maybe one or two principles that you learnedthat the lord taught you that really broke out that old shell to help you walk into thatnew man? well, it actually happened there at disney.it was a moment where my supervisor had come to me, saw that my life behind the sceneswas very different than the life that i was portraying on the stage. and he came to meat one moment, and we had this exchange. and

it's in the book. and he looked at me, andhe said, “what's going on with you?” and i exploded on him. and i said, “i don'tfeel like being here today, tommy. i don't feel like i’m pretty. i don’t feel likea princess.” and he spoke these words, and god used them and showed me how to walk outof my issues, and that was this: he said, “whoever asked you to feel? you were chosento be a princess. now, go, wash your face, get a new attitude, go put on your clothes, and go be cinderella, because nobody ever asked you to feel anything.” and that wasthe exchange from my boss there at disney, but come to find out 14 years later, wheni was crying out to god saying, “god, i can’t stand me. help me. deliver me. whateverit is you need to do in me, do it.” and

he brought those words back to me, and hesaid, “walk those out. walk those seven principles out. find out how to walk by faithinstead of by feelings. what does it mean to be chosen? go back to your past and usethose things. get beyond those things, so you can move on and do some great things forme.” well, i tell you what, you're doing some greatthings right now. you're speaking all over. and you talk about the seven principles. youhit one. so if you want to know these other six principles, you've got to get jennifer’sbook. it's called get over yourself. and you can find it wherever books are sold. it’sa great title. and i tell you what, i think every woman, every girl, every person whohas some issues, and they want to tear those

issues off and walk into that new man, thisis the book to get. so thank you so much. absolutely. thank you so much. and there is a website? the website, getoveryourselfnow.com. it’sas easy as it comes. fantastic. thank you, jennifer. absolutely. all right, pat. thanks. well, she’s a lovely girl, but iguess the issues were there. the lord has taken care of them. well, still ahead, we'vegot your questions from our chat room. lori says, “my son bought a truck that turnedout to be a lemon. what is the balance between

they do their daily chores, like wheelingthis homemade cart full of water on an abandoned railroad track, they work in silence. manyyears ago, carlos and sandra were given free hearing aids, but their parents couldn’tafford the replacement batteries. the family lives in a remote part of guatemala, 160 milesfrom the nearest city that sells batteries. it would cost one month’s salary to takea bus and buy just two batteries. the hearing aids stopped working after a monthor two, and the batteries were too expensive for us to buy. so the children stopped wearingthem. when cbn learned about the children, we tookthem to a hearing specialist, then we bought them brand new hearing aids and enough batteriesto last them for the next 10 years.

i can hear now. i love my dad. i hope to startthe second grade very soon. carlos has even decided to give first gradeanother try. and this time he hopes to get through very quickly. we are very grateful to operation blessingfor helping our children to move forward. i never imagined that someone would care forus like this. we care. we care in your name. and there are people all around the world.you can't help them all. there are six billion plus people in the world, and you can't helpthem all, but we help the ones we can. and we can bring hope and joy into the lives ofpeople. what do you think of that? if they

were your kids, you'd want them to read, wouldn’tyou? you’d want them pass in school and get promoted. all they need is a few littlebatteries. they’ve got hearing problems. can we help them? yes, we can. and what doestake to do it? it takes some folks like you who love people, who love god, to say, “sixty-fivecents a day. i'll forego the joy of having a coke off the vending machine, and i’llgive this money to the lord.” sixty-five cents a day, 20 dollars a month, and you canbe a 700 club member. and when you do, we're going to give you this sensational dvd calledlife beyond the grave. this thing has just been fantastic. people's lives have been changed.for those who will go for 1,000 dollars, we'll give you five of these little babies likethis, so you can give them to your friends.

people want to know, “what is going to happenafter i die?” well, this tells you. people have died and been there. some went to heaven.some went to hell. they all came back, but, boy, their stories are something else. sopick up your phone. call in: 1-800-759-0700. fantastic. you ready to answer some questions? oh, i’m so ready it hurts. what have yougot? okay, we’re going to jump right in withlori, who says: “my son bought a truck that turned out to be a lemon. by law, they shouldgive him back his money. my question is what’s the balance between living at peace with oneanother and wanting justice? we’ve been

warned that this could get nasty.” well, the bible says suffer yourself to bedefrauded. you don't lose your salvation over some truck. a few thousand dollars, the lordcan give you twice that much or three times that much. so don't sweat it. but nevertheless, there is a manufacturer, there is a dealer, and so forth, that has to stand behind theirproducts if it has a warranty. and they're prepared to pay for it. insurance companiesare set up to take care of accidents. big corporations have funds for defective merchandise.you don't have to get nasty. just ask for your money and go through the normal channels.it is when you get mean-spirited that you lose. and if you think it is only money, soyou lose it, so big deal. it’s only money.

it's only money. and you don't get hung upon money. the bible says what is highly prized in the sight of man is an abomination to thelord. so don't worry about it. so make friends with your money, is what the bible says. makefriends with it. use it for good, but don't get mean. don't get hateful. don’t get spiteful, and don't start killing people on account of a few thousand dollars, or 10 dollars,or 100 dollars. next question. that's a great point. that’s a great point.i tell you, kill them with kindness. well, here is a question from one of our viewers, who says, “how should i buy gold?” that’s a good question. people ask me that, and idon’t know the answer. “should i purchase a stock or mutual fund? should i buy goldbars or coins i see advertised on commercials?”

well, it’s kind of like all of the above.the best vehicle, the so-called exchange traded funds, atfs. one of the is called gold, it’sgld is the symbol for it. the other is silver, slv. and they price those things on the basisof the spot price of gold and silver each day, so they go up and down in relation tothe spot. gold, let’s say if an ounce now is 1,600 dollars, in order to get an ounceof gold, you've got to lay out 1,600 dollars. so that may be a little bit big a shot. youcan get gold from the us mint, where i got some gold coins some years ago, when goldwas a whole lot cheaper. so there are those experts who say holding physical gold is good,or silver. and you can get coins. there are metal dealers that deal with coins. so youcan do that. the best way of gold used to

be krugerrands. they were the cheapest, becausethere wasn’t a lot of premium. it was the south african coin, one ounce of gold foreach coin. okay, what’s next? all right, real quick, “what is the bigproblem with raising the debt ceiling?” i don’t think we’re going to have timefor that question, but try. well, the big problem, i think the democratsare making more of it than it is. as michele bachmann has said very cogently, we've gotenough money coming in to pay our bills. the debt ceiling means you can borrow more money.they can roll over their debts, if a bond comes due. they can roll it over and sellit again. so i don't know. they're making more of it than they should have, frankly.and i think it is kind of a hammer over the

people's heads. but that's all of the timewe've got, and, boy, that is a lot in 10 seconds. i know. well, tomorrow, you may be contributing toprescription drug abuse without even knowing it. find out how. today we leave you withthese words from i john . . . . . . . . “we love him because he first lovedus.” good job. the material provided on this program is forgeneral informational and educational purposes only. no informationon the program is intended as investment, tax, accounting or legal advice,as an offer or solicitation of an offer to
